Pull the refrig out , and remove the bottom panel covering the compressor , and make sure the fan , cooling the compressor , is working . The blade could have an obstruction . If the fan isn't turning , replace the fan motor . Also , make sure the bottom coils are clean of dust , lint , pet hair , etc .
You need to pull the refrig out and remove the back panel , covering the compressor and fan . If the fan is not running , check for something caught in the fan blade . If nothing is found then replace the fan motor . Also make sure the coils at the bottom in front , are clean of dust , lint , pet hair , etc .

The fan which cools the compressor , needs to be replaced or checked for fan blade obstruction . Pull the refrig out and remove the lower panel , covering the compressor and fan . Yes , motor is bad . May not start , next time cuts off . The fan in the back by the compressor , is called the condensor fan motor . I would suggest cleaning the coils in front at the bottom , of dust , lint , pet hair , etc , before replaceing the fan motor . Also , clean the fan blade before reinstalling the motor .
