Why doesn't my gmail show up in the quick start tiles any more??

I used to be able to click the tile to open my emails, now I have to start typing the address 'm' before it comes up - this is not convenient.

Where are these quick start tiles that you speak of? Do you mean the ones next to the start button in Windows XP? If so, you have probably added a new item there recently and run out of space or shortened the toolbar or it has been deleted.

Is there a ">>" after your last icon? If so, click on it and I bet you'll find what you're looking for. In this case, you can either delete another unwanted icon or make the Quick Launch toolbar bigger. To make it bigger, just drag its edge to the right. If you can't see any edge, right-click on a blank area of the taskbar and deselect Lock the Taskbar. When you've adjusted the size, you can lock it again.

If it has been deleted, either look for it in your recycle bin or create a new one as shown for Windows XP since you didn't specify your operating system.

Right-click on the desktop and then click New, Shortcut. When it asks for the location, type www.gmail.com and click Next. You are now asked for a name so type Gmail. You can now drag this icon onto the Quick Launch toolbar. A copy will remain on the desktop, which you can keep or discard. If you lose another icon and you get a ">>", read above.

SOURCE: my password doesn't work and i cannot sign in my gmail address

Next time, prior to changing the password, set your "password recovery options". You can enter a cell phone or alternative email address in order to assist in getting back online.

Recent App Stack

To make a stack in your dock that shows all recently used programs go into terminal and type the following: defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-others -array-add '{ "tile-data" = { "list-type" = 1; }; "tile-type" = "recents-tile"; }'

If it doesn't work straight away go into activity monitor and close the dock process.

Office H&S 2013 purchased at Officeworks, installed on my desktop, but I need to put the icon on my screen. I find about 100 answers to Search on This PC -some updates others ? I had Excel on my

I assume you have Windows 8.1 as your OS. Unfortunately, the new OS doesn't add new programs to the Desktop, Task Bar or Start Screen. The best way to find the new programs is on the Start Screen. If you are in the Desktop, press the Windows key on the keyboard or the Start button in the lower left hand side of the screen. On the Start look between the Tiles and the Task Bar on the left side of the screen for an arrow that points downward. (You may need to move the mouse pointer.) This will bring up the All Programs list. Depending on your settings for the Start Screen, you may need to scroll past the Tiles for the non-desktop programs. Then you will see a list of Desktop programs organized by program manufacturer. All of the Microsoft Office software icons will be under the Microsoft Office header. If you right click on the Excel icon, you will be able to "pin" it to the Start menu or the Task bar. Repeat this for the other Office programs if you want them pinned. Another choice from the right click menu is to "Open File Location". This will open the File Explorer on the Desktop to the folder with the specific Office program. If you right click on the Application icon (the .exe file) and drag it to the Desktop, you will see an option to create a shortcut right there.

Once you have created the shortcuts on the Desktop or pinned them to the Start Screen, you may need to move them around. Just drag them to a more convenient location. On the Start Screen, all new Tiles are put to the very right hand side of the list. This may require scrolling several times to reach them. Holding the left mouse button will let you drag the icon.

I hope this helps.

(You can also find the Office Programs by just searching the folders - but that depends on which version of Office is installed. The default install has been the x32 version, start in the C:\Program Files (x86)\ folder. The 64-bit version will be in C:\Program Files\)

Clean grease off terracotta tiles

There are a couple of things you could try. I recently came across a specific grout/tile cleaner that works well. You can buy it online. It is a type of cream that you spread over the grease and leave for a while. After it has set, you can use a toothbrush (for best results) to scrub off the soap and grease. Otherwise, you can try magic eraser. Those can be used on tiles and get off a lot. Tiles make up such a great aspect of the house, I hope you can clean them up.

What is a tile in windows 8?

Windows 8 tiles are an essential part of windows 8 and they replace the small windows icons on the desktop that we used to know. The tiles on the desktop represent all the programs installed on the user's computer. When clicking "Start", all the applications are arranged as tiles on the Windows 8 Start screen.

Tile saw wont start. It's brand new. Is there some sort of safety device.

The first thing you should check is the GFCI switch on the power cord. All tile saws have one because of the water involved with cutting tile. It should have a test and reset button on it, press the reset button to get power to the saw motor. Some bigger saws also have a reset button on the motor itself for overload issues. Check for that if the GFCI reset doesn't work.

Tile Saws types problem

Mass produced ceramic tiles of medium to soft grades are cut easily with hand tools. The glazed surface of the tile is first scored with a tool that carries a hardened metal wheel. Then with a support directly under the score pressure is applied to either side of the cut and the tile snaps along the score. The harder grades of ceramic tiles like fully vitrified porcelain tiles, stone tiles, and some clay tiles with textured surfaces have to be cut with a diamond blade.
