Chances are that it may be a ceased motor assy.
I had same problem & solved it by replacing motor assy.
Suggest unwire it & remove from unit and apply 12v to terminals (either way round)
If the gear wheel does not turn slowly then that is where your ploblem lies.
Replacement motor not excessively expensive.
