Amana thru the wall ac unit won't turn off

I have an amana model PTC153A35AD thru the wall a/c unit for a large room. It has begun to not turn off. The status light flashes once which indicates that the system is ok but after running about 15 minutes it starts flashing twice which indacates that the fuse is blown. But the fuse on the front of the unit is ok. What else can I do ? thanks for your help.

The adjustment knob on the unit does not turn down how do you get the knobs off? Can we replace the control unit with one that is touch control? Could the problem of it not turning down be the thermostat? It is an Amana PTC153A35AD wall unit.

I have an Amana ptac hotel type thru the wall unit. The unit won't turn on - it's plugged in. The gfi button is popped out. There is power to the wall plug. Any ideas?

Hi,
If you reset the GFCI button and then when you go to turn it on the button pops again, then you have a short inside the units probably in the fan motor or the compressor..

Heatman101, I am about to buy a one room HVAC unit for one large bedroom (14'x16') and my HVAC fellow recommended an Amana thru wall unit model # PTC093B35AE. He quoted $1200. What do you think of this...

Stay away from Heatman 101 as he does more damage than he's qualified to do much else so just stay away from him, period

We have an amana ac and no manual. The model number is not visible and we can't get the ac to go below 75 degrees. What do we do and how can we obtain the elusive manual?

Here is a link to contact Amana.I could not find a free download for a manual, however I am sure you will need to find out the model number somehow. The model number should be on it somewhere. If it is a unit where you have to mount the casing and then slide the unit into the casing,it should be on the back somewhere once you pull it out. That's all I have for now.If that does not work,Amana should be able to tell you where it is with some description of your unit.Good luck!

I have an Amana PBE12 Thru-Wall AC/Heater for my Florida Room. The unit will run for a short time before it trips the circuit breaker. Any ideas?

is the breaker large enough for the unit? this could be the compressor locking up if if it a heat pump style, or sticking thermostat..

Air Conditioner in wall not window like hotel unit, leaks inside

Open the cover. In the bottom drip pan, there is a hole that is clogged. Just unplug it and it will drain.
