I have a blackberry pearl and after I receive a text message and open it the red light continues to flash. I have checked to make sure nothing else has received a message and it hasn't. I turned it off and took the battery out but it isn't fixing it.
The red light is telling you that your phone is on. It will flash regaurdless if you have a text or not. When you charge it the light turns green.
Thats how they're made :)

Same thing happened on my blackberry bold, so i contacted my service provider(vodafone) and heres what they told me to do.
1.go into menu.
2.click on options.
3.choose mobile network.
4.then mobile selection mode.
5.change from automatic to manual.
6.let it search for a network.
7.select a different service provider from your own.
8.when its done reselect your service provider.
9.change from manual back to automatic.
