Printhead Problem I had a paper jam. I pull out all the paper and now I have the following error message: "The following printhead has a problem: magenta/cyan." HELP

  • joannegeorge Jul 03, 2009

Thank you for your suggestion. It didn't work. The printhead lots fine, I'm wondering if there is a way to just 're-set' the printer?

Open the cover and hold the cancel button for a few seconds, the carriage moves to the left side. Pry off the cover on the right and look for any paper scraps down in the cavity. You can also remove the m/c printhead and wipe the bottom on a damp paper towel and try again...

Printhead carriage jam facult is showing. No jam, I tried calling the help line. I still have the printhead error fault.

This error message is displayed by the printer when paper is jammed in one or more locations. In such a case, users are recommended to remove the jammed paper from the specified location. The entire paper path must be checked for any pieces of paper. To stop the message, open and close the top most cover of the printer. Lastly, verify the flags and the sensors. If the problem persists, the cause of the error message could be a broken sensor or sensor lever.

I am receiving error message of : 86:01 Possible paper jam

Most times when this error occurs it is because of one of three things:

1. Paper jammed in the carriage path that prevents the printhead from moving all the way from left to right. Check closely on the far left and right as paper can be pushed into the interior of the printer by the service station.
2. The printhead cover was not closed properly and the metal ring that that the blue handle is supposed to engage in is catching on the side of the printer.
3. The drive belt has either come off the track or broken. Open the lid and check the black rubber belt that drives the printhead assembly. It should be taunt. If it is loose there is a problem. I have had several 1100 series designjets throw their belt off the tension pulley. You can sometimes reseat it but my experience is that it will get thrown again. If you replace the belt, replace the tensioner at the same time.

Printer says there is a paper jam and there is no paper in there.

first thing you need to do is will do the overriding the error

1. open the pritner access door fo the printer
2. if the printhead or ink cartirdges already in center remove the ink cartridges and the printhead
3. If the printhead already removed close printer access door., Turn Off the pritner then after 10sex turn It own.

4. Now your pritner should detect no printhead installed not paper Jam., If you still recieved paper jam error without the pritnhead installed you need to have a printer replacement call kodak toll free number 1 800 421 6699 ext 05

5. Now if the message is pritnhead not installed., reseat the printhead and the ink cartordges then close the pritner access door., If your ecived same message paper jam., You need to replace the printhead you may also call kodak 1 800 421 6699, and have your free printhead replacement.

Most of the time overriding the error message solve the problem

My HP Officejet Pro L7780 All-In-One InkJet Printer was jammed with paper. I believe I got it all out and now the display reads" Printhead problem- the following printhead has a problem: magenta/cyan...

There are two possibilities here Joanne, first, it could be a false error message or else second, the Cyan/Magenta print head has gone bad.Try the following:
1. Take the Cyan/Magenta printhead out. Remember, the printhead...not the cartridges.
Clean the copper contacts with a Q Tip, moistened with plain water. Wait till it dries, put the printhead back in.
2. If this does not resolve the issue, unplug the power cord from the back and press and hold the power cord for 30 sec. This will drain all the static charges. Plug it back after a couple of minutes and see if the error message re appears.

I have just re-started my Canon PIXMA MP610 after it has been in storage for 2 months. It is around 1yr old. It seemed to work OK. When i went to print the 1st page, the paper jammed because of some...

I would suggest removing the printhead, make sure there are no more dead roach's under the printhead, also make sure all lights on the ink tanks are lite up, the first error code you mentioned has to do with the ink tanks, the second one has to do with the printhead. I would suggest un-installing the printhead, then reinstalling it doing the alignment, and that should clear the error code.

5300 kodak eazyshare printer

Well, here is the proper way of fixing or troubleshooting that paper jam error in your printer

Open the printer access door and remove both of the ink cartridge, then remove also the printhead, after that close the printer access door, without those parts. Then it will show a message in the printer screen, "Printhead is missing or has come loose" or "Printhead Not Detected" Install the printhead, just the printhead without the ink cartridges. After that close the printer access door. Then it will show you a message"Ink cartridges is not installed, install ink cartridges". then open again the printer access door, then install the black ink cartridge without the color ink cartridge. then close the printer access door, then message must be " Color ink cartridge is not installed, install color ink cartridge" then install the color ink cartridge." the message must be,"New printhead is detected calibration require, load paper and press start"

Thats the way of overiding the paper jam error message of your kodak all in one printer
hope this will help you guys

Printer jam...i took the back off i see no paper jamed anywhere. I removed the paper and reinstalled it still the light come on saying there is a printer jam

To resolve this issue please do the following:
1. Open the printer access door(the gray part)
2. remove the cartridges
3. remove the printhead, to remove it press the release latch located on the upper left edge of the printhead where you put the black ink
ff17ccd.jpg
4. Then close the printer access door WITHOUT the printhead and the cartridges.
5. unplug the printer and wait for 30 seconds and plug it back
6. it will give you a missing printhead error
7. install the printhead first, close it and then it should give an error missing cartridges. install the cartridges and if you no longer have the error upgrade the firmware by going to www.kodak.com/go/downloads
I hope that helps. If not contact kodak technical support for further troubleshooting.

Paper jam Brother MFC-215C

Norman,

does the printhead run smoothly to the left side of the printer when it is powered on?

If the printhead cant run that freely, it will give you the paperjam message. You have to dismantle the printer again, connect the scanner and cables again when top cover is removed. Press the scanner open contact (opposite to the menu button) and watch the printhead run to the left side. It might be that either the printhead stucks somewhere on its way (press the cover of the printhead. It might be the reason) or the guide rail hinders the printhead to move.
