There is a couple steps in removing this panel. First, unplug the unit and then locate the tab on the top of the unit, it has to be pushed down. When the tab is pushed down the first faceplate should drop down, exposing the keypad with the menu options. Second, you need to get a small flat head screwdriver and put it under the clip at the top of the panel. You can locate it by finding where your pushed the original tab down; it's right below that. Once you have your screwdriver under the small clip, push the clip up and pull the 2 faceplate towards you. Finally, after the second plate is down, unscrew/unplug the wires from the panel, unscrew the mounting panel and your done! Beware, depending on how your alarm is hooked this can cause a short to your household telephone lines causing them not to work!

I cant find the control panel.

The Simon 3 is a "self-contained" system, meaning everything is in the keypad itself and there is no separate control panel with the circuit board and battery -- it's all in the keypad.

System says low battery ... how do I open it to replace batteries...very confusing!

There are two tabs (and possibly a screw) on the top of the Simon XT panel. Remove srew (if installed) and press the two tabs, pulling forward. Front part of panel is hinged and will rock forward. Battery is located behind front half. It is a 6 volt 1.2 Amp Hour lead acid battery.
You must completely downpower the Simon XT (wall plug in and battery) then replace with new battery first, then reconnect wall power. Close the front panel and snap it closedand replace the screw (if it was installed). You will need to set the time on the panel, following the instructions in the users manual.

3. Simultaneously press and hold Cancel, Clock Set, and
Minutes +.
4. Restore power to the panel with either the battery or the

I have ge simon 3 - Purchased ion micra -g wireless window and door compatible sensors. Didn't come with how to add sensor. Wants me to push button on sensor; where is that button

I'm having the same problem on a used Simon. I think the button is inside the wireless transmitter. It has a spring attached to it. Just press on the spring to send wireless signals to the panel. My problem is I press on the spring and the panel does not receive the signal, even with a $20 fresh Lithium Ion battery from Radio Shack.

Where is the battery located in the Simon system?

Hi.

The battery is located inside the Simon. Use a flat screwdriver to remove the panel.

Here an online manual.See page 23.

Connect the battery BEFORE connecting the power transformer.

On Simon panels, the master code should default to 1234 if it's been powered down for several hours (I can't remember how long, at least four hours, possibly 12-16). So, unplug it from the wall and disconnect the system battery and leave it for the night. Power it up by plugging in the battery first and plug it into the wall. Then enter the code as 1234. It should annouce that the alarm system is disarmed. If so, your code is 1234. ;)

When removing the battery, be very careful to not break the little tab that holds it shut! Can't stress that enough.
