My problem was solved. The spring had slipped out of the arm that trips the ice. Repairman showed me how to put it back myself. This keeps happening every few weeks. No problem putting it back in

SOURCE: Ge profile side By side ice maker water leak

This sounds like the float mechanism has gone bad. Remove it and have a look. It may be the float or the switch on it that is bad. There is also a solenoid valve. Parts kits are available. Shut off the water first!

SOURCE: ice maker stuck

Switch the ice maker off then back on should reset it . It is possible that the 'ice mould heater' is not working so the ice cubes don't realease from the mould , jamming the motor. Replacement ice maker is usually the solution

SOURCE: my ge side by side model gss25jfmc ww will start

I can tell you how to find the problem , but , it is a little work .
Pull the refrig out and remove the 8 " x 10 " panel . Behind this panel , is the main control board . Unplug the refrig . Remove the BLUE plug from the board , with 3 larger wires going to it . Looking at the blue plug , the sequence will be wire1,wire2,space,wire3 . Get a short piece of insulated wire , and strip about 1/4 inch from each end . Insert 1 end into wire2 , and the other into wire3 . Plug the refrig back in . After about 3 min , look in the freezer , at the bottom , behind the crisper , look for a red glow . If no red glow , unplug the refrig , and reassemble the plug and cover . This no glow , indicates a shorted defrost heater WR51X10055 . It is also advisable to replace the defrost thermostat ( pt. number WR50X10068 ) when replacing the heater . To access these parts , you will have to remove the inside rear wall of the freezer . The heater , is at the bottom of the coils , held on with 2 screws , and the thermostat , is the 1 " cylinder , with a blue and pink wire going to it , clipped on the top left of the coils .
If you do get a red glow , then the # 4 thermistor is bad . This tells the main control board , the temp of the coils , if they need defrosted , when they are thru defrosting . This thermistor is the 1 " long , torpedo looking piece , clipped on the top left of the coils , with 2 white wires going to it . Part number WR55X10025 . It would be advisable to also replace the # 5 thermistor , located at the bottom of the freezer , slightly in front of the drain , also with 2 white wires going to it , slid into a housing . This thermistor , is the freezer thermistor , which tells the control board , the freezer temp , and , when to cycle off due to temp satisfied .

SOURCE: Our GE Adora Refrigerator's ice maker isn't working properly

Perhaps your freezer isn't set cold enough - or your freezer door seal is not sealing correctly and the ice cubes are melting in the bin and sticking to one another and the spiral screw that delivers the ice.

Our refrigerator stopped making ice. The water comes out fine. How do we correct this problem?

There are two sides to the water control valve=> WR57X10051 Dual Water Control Valve It's possible the side for the ice maker has failed. Try filling the ice maker with tap water and allow it to freeze. If the ice drops after freezing and the ice maker does not refill this will point to needing replace the WR57X10051 Dual Water Control Valve If the ice maker does nothing then that points to the ice maker itself=> WR30X10093 Ice Maker Assembly I will be here should you have questions, Thanks Sea Breeze

My icemaker won't switch back to cubed ice. all i keep getting is crushed ice. HELP

If you select cube and hold open the door and push in on the light switch and have someone push the lever for ice you should hear a loud click this is from the selector switch in the back that engages a long brass colored rod under the ice maker if you hear this loud click you probably have some crushed ice in the crusher keeping it from switching back open the door and push in on the light switch and have someone push for cube ice it will kick ice out the bottom so dont be alarmed. (sometimes you have to do this a couple times) good luck

The ice maker is working fine but ice cannot be dispensed because the chute keeps on freezing

The door to the chute is sticking slightly open allowing moisture in an freezing the chute and the door is then frozen open. You will have to disassemble the small door assembly, there has to be an obstruction holding this small door open.

GE side by side with ice and water in door

This is a problem with my GE side by side also. It only happens occassionally and there doesn't seem to be any fix. I've had GE repair service here more than once. It seems that the insulation in the door is insufficient to keep the water line from freezing up. Small wonder GE is part of this awful financial mess.
