Oil free compressors are used when oil could contaminate food products, or maybe spraying where oil down the line would ruin a spray job, although adequate filtration to stop the oil getting to point of use

SOURCE: My craftsman 3 gal. air compressor, 921.153101 won't compress air

I WOULD TRY DISCONNECTING THE PIPING FROM THE HEAD DOWN TO THE TANK AND SEE IF ITS BLOWING AIR. COULD THE COMPRESSOR BE RUNNING BACKWARDS - YOU WOULD HAVE HAD TO CHANGE THE WIRING IN THE MOTOR.
VALVES IN THE HEAD COULD ALSO BE BROKEN. YOU CAN REMOVE THE INTAKE AND IT SHOULD **** YOUR FINGERS AT THE OPENING. HOPE THIS HELPS.

SOURCE: Air Compressor

Dewalt recommends synthetic oil in their compressors. The dewlat part # 5130427-00 quart, and 5130702-00 for a 4oz size. Available at www.dewalt.com or their service center. I have been using the Lowes brand of synthetic compressor oil. Kobalt oil sells for about $7 and works great. If you do not use your compressor all day like I do, you can use the standard grade of Kobalt compressor oil that sells for around $3. Synthetic oil is for extreme conditions. Good Luck!

SOURCE: Oil type for air compressor

You can go to any Home Depot and buy compressor oil for your compressor. Your operators manual should tell you what the level should be, however if you don't have one, filling it with oil until it fills the glass tube about half way should be sufficient.

SOURCE: Compressor won't turn on

check to make sure the red handle switch in flipped down, and that the socket has power. if it is and still does not work, the black box (pressure relief valve) is jacked up. good luck trying to get parts. called the manufacture yesterday (July 28) and the company went out of business back in early 2008 and there are no parts that they can supply. i am now looking for another compressor.

Why does my master craft brad nailer / stapler leak air from the exhaust port at the rear of the gun , will not hold air in the compressor

I will hazard a guess the nailer has been used on a compressor without either a Filter/drier, regulator or lubricator.

Such an air tool should be used with all three of those things in the air supply though they rarely are, consequently the air tool will be subjected to droplets of moisture, air that is likely to contain various solid particles and be under-lubricated and be used at a higher pressure than recommended.

The nailer will have to be dismantled and examined. At 2 years old you could be lucky and find the damage isn't terminal and an overhaul kit will supply all the necessary parts. I suggest you contact the supplier to discover what is available before you begin. Many such tools today are generic of eastern origin with few or no spare parts service.

How much oil should be charg in 1.5 system

The oil charge has less to do with system size & more to do with size & type of compressor being used. most comp. manufactures will list oil type & quanity on the tag located on the body of the compressor. very very rare to have to mess with oil charge on a central a/c unit unless tubing runs are extremly longer than 50 feet & needs to be added at install of unit by recommended allowances of units manufacturer.

Knocking compressor

really depends on the model of compressor but if it is an oil less compressor best thing is to junk it and buy a oil lubricated with a cast iron pump dont get one with aluminum if you want a compressor to last you for many years.

I have an older Sears Craftsman air compressor 1hp, 100 psi twin cyl Model 106.154541. on the cyl base there is an oil fill directly across from this on the opposite side of the cyl base there is another...

The pump used on your compressor was incorporated into different designs thus needed access to oil fill from one side or the other. Part number for oil plug was std-220 or 27642, but you can use just regular standard pipe thread plug with square head. If the oil plug fits the other hole. Buy plumbing parts at Lowes. Good Luck

Letting that compressor sit will not harm it one bit....if it fails it will be because of other mechanical or electrical failure and not because of setting and not running...

Where do you check or put the oil in the compressor?

If it is a oil type compressor, not all are, there will be a fill plug in the base of the compressor. Normally, compressors dont use much if any oil. I have one nearly 20 years old, I have not added a drop.

Yours may be oil-less. It should say on the compressor whether it is or not.

You dont mention the model, so I cannot say with authority if it is oil or oil-less.

Air Compressor won't go over 35PSI

Hello, Your air compressor is leaking in the cylinder and is unable to produce more than the 35psi. Unfortunately oilless air compressors do not last very long. The rings and cylinders wear out. I have successfully repaired some units but, I usually recommend buying the oil type compressor. They last forever. If you want to try and repair it let me know and I'll help you. Good luck.

Dont know what kind of oil to put in my makita mac2400r compresso

If your compressor is used all day purchase synthetic blend compressor oil sold at lowes and other stores. It will increase the life of your machine. Sells for about $7. for 16oz. For normal use use standard air compressor oil sold at lowes, home depot and even at wal mart. Wal mart's Super Tech Air Compressor oil sells for less than $3. and works well. Do not use motor oil with detergent as this type of oil causes carbon deposits to build-up in the head and discharge hose which will eventually clog the check valve and lower efficiency. If you remove the plastic sight glass, use caution, because this part easily cracks. Purchase a spare sight glass and keep in your tool box. Good luck
