Because a freezer only does one thing and that is freeze things, unfortunatly any things that breaks on a freezer causes the same thing. Is it running, does the fan work (frost free) are the shelves melting (non frost free) can you hear the compressor running , is the condensor fan running ?

Kenmore upright freezer. The alarm keeps going off?

The light may be staying on and creating heat, or the unit thinks the door is still open.

Or the door seal is worn and is letting cold out.

Or

It needs gas.

Have you put a thermometer inside to check the temperature? It should be 0'F +/- 2'.

The freezer alarm won't go off.

Possibly a problem with one of the components in the automatic defrost system in the freezer then.. this is the only reason why the alarm would keep sounding. Perhaps some of the moisture from the defrost has gotten in and damaged the electricals somehow. It might be worth it to store your freezer contents elsewhere and completely defrost the freezer and then heat the inside cabinet up with a hair dryer or something similar. This will dry out the cabinet and the electrical components. Once the freezer has warmed up let it stand for as long as possible with the doors open so that it reaches room temperature and then close the doors and switch back on. If this doesn't work you probably need a service engineer visit.

Why is the temperature alarm light on, on my freezer Model# FFU21M8CW?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that the temperature alarm light is on for your Frigidaire freezer, model# FFU21M8CW. This feature is designed to provide a warning of a possible malfunction. If the temperature of the food rises to a level unsafe for long-term storage, the buzzer will sound. The red light, if equipped, will also glow. The Temp Alarm feature operates on household electricity. If power fails, the alarm will not function. An ON/OFF switch allows you to deactivate the Temp Alarm when not wanted. Your freezer is shipped with the Temp Alarm in the OFF position. After your freezer has run approximately 4 hours, the red light, if equipped, will go off. Then you may activate the Temp Alarm without the alarm sounding. Press the ON switch to activate the Temp Alarm. To deactivate, press the OFF switch. If the alarm sounds, be sure freezer is properly leveled, and the door closes freely, and seals properly. If you suspect a technical malfunction, call an authorized servicer immediately. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

AEG santo fridge freezer model S7534 - freezer heating up after door left open

Might need to be 'cycled' through a total defrost and re-cool period, how long have you left it?
Might mean you will have to empty it into another unit while it settles down :-(

The alarm keeps going off but the freezer stays cold

Hi, some freezers, mainly chest type have a alarm button on them, which is located in various places to shut it off. Yours is showing a photo of an upright. I would suggest getting a free standing thermometer to set in the freezer to make sure it is staying at the setting you have. It could be that your thermostat is in need of calibration causing it to sound off when it isn't supposed to.What we recommend on freezers that have this problem, as long as there is no problem with it working, is to disconnect the alarm buzzer on a temp. basis. All that is needed to do, is to locate the alarm which you should be able to see and hear. Get to the wiring, kill power and clip one wire to the alarm. Very easy to do when you have found it. If it has male or female connectors going to it, just unplug one of the wires going to it which will stop the alarm only. Very simple wiring going to it. You can always plug it back in if for some reason you want to sell it in the future, or just leave it off. If you cant do this, you will have to call out a tech who will go through the system and try and find out why it is going off. It is either out off calibration it self, or the thermostat control is off. This can get costly. I normally don't recommend cutting or removing a wire to repair something, but this is a exception. On commercial walk-in boxes, we sometimes take the alarm probe which is on the return- air side of the freezer when they fail or are a problem with going off, and just move the probe into the supply air side which solves this problem. I have had this happen to many freezers on this site, and by doing this has solved the problem with out costing a lot of $$$. This is the only reason I have them do this is the cost of having someone out.

The high temp light is on. What can I do to reset it? Everything seems frozen and fine in the frezzer

HIGH-TEMP ALARM SWITCH (SOME MODELS)
An audible
alarm will sound if the freezer temperature reaches
unsafe levels. The alarm operates on household electricity. If
the power
fails, the alarm will not perform.
An ON/OFF switch
allows the high temperature alarm to be
deactivated if desired. NOTE: You must open the
freezer door to
view the alarm switch. The
freezer is shipped with the switch in
the OFF position.
After the freezer has run longenough to
lower the temperature, you
may set the switch to the ON
position.
To activate the alarm, set the switch
to the ON position.
To deactivate the alarm, set the switch to the OFF position

i got this from the freezer manual from Kenmore hope this was helpful

Zanussi fridge freezer alarm keeps sounding

If the refrigerator and freezer are both working properly. Then the only problem would be the alarm, It's either the placement of the alarm thermometer or the alarm thermometer is stuck closed.

FREEZER ALARM WILL NOT SHUT OFF

Use a freezer thermometer and tell me the actual temperature. Or at least store some ice cream and see if it stays brick hard. Unless I have some idea of the actual temp I can't tell if defective freezer or alarm
