I have the same problem, mouse and remote is connecting fine, but the keyboard just don't want to connect.... tried it on two different computers, changed the batteries... nothing seems to work... This should not be a driver issue, the keyboard has worked fine without drivers before...

    Regards, Tean

i had the same problem, i re-installed the software i pulled the usb wireless reciever out and put it in the same port, but what made it work was putting it in a different port. when it was in the other port, every one of the top silver buttons worked and the scroll button worked, but the keys i actually needed didnt work

my mouse works fine, but they keyboard only somewhat connects. i can hot f1-f4 to get the programs up and the zoom and music buttons work. but the buttons i really need do not work, all the keys with letters and numbers. when i hit the [F] mode key the light on the reviser turns on and off, but when i try the same for the caps and num lock keys nothing happens. i checked the drivers and under the mouse it shows the usb mouse and ps/2. when i checked the keyborard the on drivers it only shows the ps/2.

my letters and numbers suddenly stopped working. My other keys work fine (so connection seems to be ok). Not sure what to do...reinstalled setpoint program and updates - still no luck. pulled out of usb and put back - still no luck. wonder if there is a keystroke combination that just shuts down the letters/numbers...

  • graffitiguy Jul 21, 2008

My keyboard isn't responding at all either. When I go to check the keyboard setting on the control panel it doesn't detect any hardware at all. yet when I move my mouse around and type the cursor freezes until I stop pressing keys. I think it may be getting the signal from the wireless mouse receiver but I still can't find out what's wrong with the keyboard.

With this keyboard - Logitech S510 - be sure to re-establish the connection with the wireless receiver. You do that by holding down the soft black button on the receiver for a few seconds, release and very quickly pressing the red soft button on the back of the S510 keyboard. Worked for me.

Recognize that if you're using a Mac, which I am, that there were never drives written for the Mac. So you're relying on the USB only. There are no software conflicts I know of.

I had this problem for a very long time as well. Turns out this is an encryption issue. It's off-balance. You need to reset the encryption, and here's how:

On the LEFT side of your wireless keyboard press and hold Ctrl+Alt, and press F12, then release all three buttons. Now push the Connect button on your Wireless Receiver, then the connect button on your wireless keyboard. Now press Esc. Try it. See if it works. It did for me.

Thanks. The CTRL +ALT+F12 and Esc did the trick. This confounded me for 6 mo ago and I gave up using my crappy old keyboard. I bought a new S510 thinking mine was broken but after that didn't work, I found this website. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Here please check if its USB KEyboard or PS/2 Keyboard. If its USB keyboard try connecting the keyboard to another working USB port.

Otherwise; Try connecting the Keyboard to another comp and check if it works. If another comp is not available, then turn on the computer and enter the BIOS screen (hit Del, F2 key to enter BIOS key). If keyboard works it will enter BIOS screen.

Note: If keyboard failed then on boot screen there will be a Keyboard error and comp will not boot.

If computer boots in BIOS screen then its not Keyboard issue. THe issue could be related to virus. Try working on On-Screen Keyboard. To enable ON-Screen keyboard, using mouse click on Start button and click on RUN. In Run box type OSK. As you cannot type OSK, using mouse, copy the characters OSK one by one from any word file and paste in the Run Box.

If its virus then scan for virus and this issue can be fixed if remote access is taken.

Thank you Mage1028. That is brilliant!! The Ctrl+Alt+F12+Connect Wireless Receiver+Connect Wireless Keyboard did the trick!! I was losing hope after replacing the wireless keyboard with new batteries and still nothing worked so I made up my mind to just replace it with another keyboard and as luck would have it, try to Google it and check to see if I can find one last answer or solution to this problem. Sure enough I stumbled on this website and I read Mage1028 solution and Voila!! Wireless keyboard is working like a charm again. Thank you!!!

Try moving the receiver closer to the keyboard/mouse, or to another usb port. It may be getting interference or the signal can be having trouble from under a desk, etc. The range on these can be shockingly short in spite of what the documentation claims.

Logitech Mouse Not Working

Normal 0 Are your batteries in the Keyboard and mouse good?

You probably have gotten it working by now but here is a way to get it work if not.

Press the Receiver button a(and the lights will start flashing, then if its the Keyboard that isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the board to connect.

If its the MOUSE do the same except push the small RESET?CONNECT button on the back of the mouse to connect. Then they should work properly. Hope this helps. Bud

Logitech S510 mouse will not turn on

I am assuming since you need batteries that the mouse is cordless. If so you normaly have to sync the mouse with the receiver. If the keyborad and mouse came as a package it will only have one receiver. There should be corresponding sync buttons for these devices.

Keyboard stoppped working

I had the same problem. Some keys on the keyboard would work, others not. It seemed to happen after an update to the SetPoint software. I got it fixed! I tried everything and in the end this is what worked:

1. I started the computer and obviously could not log in.
2. My mouse worked, my standby key worked, but no other keys.
3. I used the mouse to activate the on-board keyboard in Vista (left bottom corner).
4. I put in my password and logged in.
5. I opened up an app (Excel in my case) to try to type something in.
6. As soon as I hit a key a Logitech wizard for encrypted communication came up!!! It asked me to press the connect button and then enter a code it displayed (keyboard worked at this point).

From this point on the keyboard worked!!

Note to Logitech.... great job on the extra security... bad job on the implementation... if your wizard runs after a PC is rebooted that has login passowrd protection.... how are the users supposed to log in??
Note: My logitech upgrade hung... with mouse and keyboard becoming unresponsive so I had to do the hard power off... maybe the wizard was meant to run after the upgrade before I had to force a restart, but this is something that should be taken into account as well.
