E240error code can be caused by excessive side to side movement of the Transfer / Separation Corona Assembly. To resolve this issue, check and make sure the Transfer / Separation fixing latch bracket is properly installed. This is the latch which secures the Transfer / Separation corona assembly.
Has been noted that the registration clutch can load down the DC Controller and cause anE240error code. The clutch can spin if the pin holding the clutch is not inserted correctly and damage the registration clutch wire harness. The clutch can also intermittently short out through the clutch housing.
Ensure transfer roller is properly installed.Turn printer off and check transfer roller contacts. Are contacts present and not damaged? If yes, Replace engine controller board. Otherwise, If contact A (please see attachment) has slipped off frame, put it back on. If you cannot see it, remove HVPS cage and put it back in place. If B is damaged, replace registration assembly.
Three areas you need to check.1.Pick up area: While pick up roller picking up the paper,delay pick or no pick causes paper jam.. 2.Registration assembly area: Once paper picked from the tray, paper leading edge registered by the paper sensor located under the registration assembly.. In case this sensor dusty malfunction or flag damage, paper wont sense. result paper damage.. 3.Fusing area. If the paper travels up to fuser area, check paper jammed before entering in fuser(Teflon not rotating properly, replace teflon sleeve) or just crossed?(check paper sensors in fuser unit, clean the sensors & check flags,flag springs.
Hello, E051 0000 At start-up, home position is not detected when the horizontal registration assembly is moved 100 mm in the direction of home position. Main cause The horizontal home position sensor is faulty. The horizontal registration motor is faulty. The DC controller PCB is faulty. Action 1. Connector Are the connectors of the horizontal registration home position sensor and the horizontal registration motor connected? a. DC controller PCB (J304) relay connector horizontal registration home position sensor b. DC controller PCB (J304) relay connector horizontal registration motor NO: Connect the connectors. 2. Sensor lever (damage and interference), Sensor Is abnormal noise heard from the horizontal registration assembly in keeping with the motor rotation? YES: a. The horizontal registration assembly is out of place because of damage to the sensor lever. Replace the sensor lever. b. The horizontal registration assembly malfunctions because of the presence of foreign matter. Remove the foreign matter. c. The sensor is faulty and cannot detect home position. Replace the sensor. 3. Horizontal registration motor, DC controller PCB Is the horizontal registration motor control signal generated by the DC controller PCB? J304-1/2: 24 V, J304-3/4/5/6: motor excitation signal YES: The horizontal registration motor is faulty. Replace the motor. NO: Replace the DC controller PCB.
Locate the two headlight lens assembly retaining screws at the top of each side of the assembly.
Remove each screw with the ratchet and a suitable socket.
Place the screwdriver behind the lens assembly to assist in prying out the guide pins that secure and align the headlight assembly. Hold the lens assembly from the outside edge (marker light/directional light section) first and pry from behind with the screwdriver to unseat the guide pins. Pry from the inside end of the lens assembly to unseat the other guide pin.
Pull the lens assembly out far enough to reach behind it and disconnect the headlight bulb wire harness from the back of the bulb. Or simply remove the bulb by twisting the harness and retaining ring counterclockwise and remove it as an assembly.
Turn the marker light/directional light socket and wire counterclockwise to remove it from the headlight lens assembly.
Remove the assembly from the front of the Stratus.
According to the HP Service manual, there is no 54.18 error.
