HI..
On a problem with oil pressure sensor leaking.
99% you need to replace the sensor with a new one.
Because if you can see the leak is not for the tread or gasket of the sensor.
If you can disconnect the the wire from the sensor.
and try to start you will see the leak coming from inside on the plastic, where the pins. of the sensor.

OK.. I hope this information work for you.
I work on Cars everyday.
Thank you fo use fixya.

SOURCE: oil sending unit

I have heard sludge buildup can be an issue with Dodge engines in Durangos. Make sure sludge is not blocking oil flow and reducing pressure.

My 1996 Toyota Camry is leaking oil in little spots on the ground when its parked, where could it be leaking from and how can i fix it?

You cannot repair the leak until you determine where it is leaking. More than likely it is leaking from the oil filter, oil pressure sending unit, or valve cover gasket. Check around the oil filter for a leaks and if you see oil on the filter then replace it. Check the oil pressure sending unit and if it is leaking replace it. Wipe all the oil off the bottom of the engine and any other place you see oil. Now place newspapers on the floor under the car and then start the engine and let it run for about 10 minutes and then shut down. Wait overnight and you can see where the leak is coming from.

Oil leak front of engine

Might be a couple of things. If it is engine oil, might be the front crankshaft seal. Also, make sure your valve cover is not leaking and dripping down the front. You may have to pull off the timing cover to see if there is a leak underneath that. And check the oil pan gasket, oil filter, and possibly the sending unit. I always like to clean off the area as best as possible with a power washer or equivalent, so I can get a good look at where the source of the leak may be. take care and good luck. ps, did you check your power steering pump and lines, if you have power steering.?

Engine oil leaking near sending unit. Replaced unit and oil still leaks. What could be the cause?

Look up overhead above the sending unit for any oil that maybe dripping from above, makeing you think it's the sending unit leaking. If not then you may use a little thread sealer to seal the leak. Also check to see if the sending unit is loose and the threads may not be the same as the old unit you removed (metric/standard/pipe) Hope this will help you.

Oil pressure light flashes intermittily. oil level is okay.

HI. I would advise to have the oil pressure sending unit(sensor), and oil pump inspected immediately for faults. If the oil pressure sending unit is operational , and the wiring is ok, replace the oil pump and screen.

To verify proper oil pressure, i recommend purchasing a manual oil pressure test kit form your local auto parts store. This will make it easier to isolate the actual issue.

NOTE- The most common error will be a faulty sending unit, or sensor(oil pressure)

Where is the oil pressure switch

The sending unit is going to be down by the oil filter. It should have some wires running to it. If you don't have enough room to access the sending unit easily then you can purchase a special socket to extract the old sending unit. Good luck.

Where is the oil pressure switch on 99 ford explorer

You will find the sending unit next to the oil filter underneath. There will be a couple of wires going to the sending unit. Unplug the wires. You might need to purchase a special socket to remove the sending unit if you don't have easy access to the part.
