My Electric went out the handset out of range?

If you are asking about a cordless land line phone. . .

"Out of Range" means the handset has lost its connection with the base station. Cordless phones are actually forms of radios. They need to be in radio wave connection with the phone base.

"No Power at Base" means that the electric power cord for the phone base is not plugged in or loose in the electrical outlet or that the batteries in the cordless handset need replacing.

There are two electrical components that will cause this problem. The most probable cause is the burner element. Each of your burner elements have a independent temperature sensor. The sensor controls the burner element temperature.

Unplug the range or shut off the house circuit breakers to disconnect electrical power to the range before replacing the surface element. Wear gloves to protect your hands when replacing surface element on your electric range.

The other less likely electrical component is Surface Element Control Switch. Each burner has a independent control switch.

To check the switch: Remove the switch 2 contacts on the left. With a multi-meter, set the meter to the lowest Ohms (Omega Symbol). Put one meter lead on one switch contact and the other meter lead on the other contact. If the switch is good you meter will read "0" Ohms.

Check you breakers, as the oven should be on its on set.

You may try starting a clean cycle again. This sometimes will run the lock motor to unlock the latch after it sets the lock. Cancel the clean after a few minutes. I hope this will help.

Hi.It is advisable to turn off your fuse or appliance when there is a power outage..When the power turns back ,it will produce surge amount of voltage that would eventually damage your appliances.when power comes back it has a very abnormal current flow.it may rise or fall which might beyond the wires capability.meaning it goes beyond what the wire can carry..It might be that when the power supply return it gives high current and short circuit the ground and live wires of your electric range.You better check continuity using an OHMETER.MULTITESTER if there is no short circuit.If the reading of the multitester if set to ohms is too high thats beyond the maximum amount going to the right,then there is a short circuit..

On the handset, look for the "PROGRAM" button and choose "HANDSET SETUP". Scroll through the menu to find "REGISTRATION" and select it. The handset display should then prompt you to press and hold the "PAGE" button on the base unit for 5 seconds and then press the "PROGRAM" button on the handset.

Perhaps you've already tried this process, as you indicated your attempts "to set it up". This is what worked for my GE DECT phones when one of the handsets displayed "Out of Range" after an electrical storm. Best of luck to you!

You said, you went to set the timer while baking a pizza and I got a "set or en" on the display of my Maytag Gemini Ceramic Top electric oven.
How old is the range?
And the model number?



Threat it like an error code.
This can reset the system.
Turn the breaker off to cut the power for 5 minutes.
Then restart the breaker and try the range.
It's like rebooting your computer when its acting strange!
Usually it corrects some error problems if they are not serious.
Or they are sometimes just a glitch.

If this does not remedy the problem, then the switch itself is bad.
