The primary transfer is not on the drum it is located across from the drum as the paper goes between the drum and the primary transfer assy. and or roller (sponge looking roller), then reinstall the transfer assy..

SOURCE: Sharp 2700N has gray bands on copies

Hi
be very careful you could cost your self allot of $

If the grey band moves it could be 1 of 2 things 1st try cleaning the fuser section be careful it is very hot, and if you not familiar with this you may want to find a service provider, it can get a little tricky, 2nd it could be the Drum cleaning blade and the drum need to be replaced. if you take the drum out this also can be very tricky. It sounds also like it may just need to be cleaned like the mirrors and platen.

Good Luck

When printing from my HPLaserJet p2035n I am getting ink transfer lines down the sides

It sounds like you are getting ghosting and either the Primary charge roller or the OPC (drum) are deteriorating. If the cartridge was an original, it is probably due to be replaced. If the cartridge was a refill, you should contact the company you got it from and have it checked.

Light copies

Hi katie44l:
Depending on the eviroment the printer is in depends on weather you have dust on the laser lenses. If you are in a dusty eviroment then the laser mirrors may have excessive dust on them preventing the laser beam from giving you the print quality that you need. The only way to fix this problem is to open the laser scanner motor assembly and clean the mirrors. That will require an HP certified technician to service the printer.

Image formation system
Laser printing requires the interaction of several different
technologies including electronics, optics, and electrophotographics
to provide a printed page. Each process functions independently and
must be coordinated with the other printer processes. Image
formation consists of seven processes:
Print cartridge
As the focal point of the image formation system, the print cartridge
contains toner and houses the cleaning, conditioning, and developing
stages of the process. The print cartridge contains the photosensitive
drum, primary charging roller, developing station, toner cavity, and
cleaning station. By including these components (which wear,
degrade, or are consumed) in the replaceable print cartridge, the
need for many service calls is eliminated. The special photosensitive
properties of the drum form an image on the drum surface and then
transfer the image to media.
CAUTION The print cartridge does not include a light-blocking shutter. Do not
expose the drum to light, which can permanently damage the drum.
Protect the print cartridge whenever you remove it.

Hope this helps.

Not printing

if the paper is coming out blank then there is a problem with the Primary transfer.
this is located on top of the drum, it is a thin wire that charges up to make the copies, it may be broken not sitting correctly or bad.
take out the drum and look for a thin wire that is on the top of the drum,if you cannot find it replace the drum

Panasonic DP-150PA Light Copies to no copies

Have you reseated the drum and toner?
It can be a drum cartridge problem. have you tried that?
You say copy or print, so I am asuming this is multifunction and you do both printing and copying.
1, Have you shook up the toner cartridge well.
After the drum and shaking the toner, I would suspect the transfer assembly, Off hand I cant remember of that machine has a transfer roller, or if there is a channel where there is a hair fine wire running through it.
The wire may have broken, or if its a roller making poor contact.
The laser is also possible. The transfer will be on the right had door assembly.
Take the cartridges out and see if there is anything laying loose in the machine,
what you are describing sounds more like a drum or transfer problem.
sounds very much like a defective transfer. And again, could easily be the drum.
Did you have a jam just before this occured? If you had a jam in particular in the right hand door, you broke the transfer wire.
Yeah, i am rambling huh?

Light strips in printing

It sounds like your transfer unit may be at fault. There may be a scrap of something caught somewhere in the mech or it could be that the unit is scratched or otherwise damaged. Try changing the unit.
