Problem with my bluetooth dongle

A friend of mine used my bluetooth dongle to tranfer data from his pc to his phone that he nedded, after he had used it, i tried to use it, my pc does not even pic up the dongle, and the little green light that use to shine from my dongle doesn't anymore. i think his pc had blown my dongle (opinion - is it possible?) can i repair my dongle?

    i have uninstalled all the drivers connected to my dongle, rebooted, and still nothing is happening, i have service pack 2 XP, and it usually pics the dongle up automatically. my pc is still not picking up the dongle. the dongle is totally dead.

    i have technotech bluetooth usb adapter made in india product.
    i have installed on my system. when i try to connect and double click the centre of ball to connect bluetooth enabled sony ericsson k550i it can't find and detects not connected.pls give me immediate solution sir how to connect the phone to my bluetooth usb adpadter

Do you have tried to uninstall the drivers from the bluetooth dongle?
Uninstall the bluetooth, then try in other usb port.
It could be some problem whit the driver

How do I put my photos onto my laptop
You have 3 options;
  1. Data Cable
  2. USB Bluetooth Dongle or a PC with in-built Bluetooth
  3. Memory Card Reader
With a data cable you can transfer the content direct to your PC, all you would need is a Data Cable (obviously) and the appropriate USB Cable Drivers for your phone which can usually be found on the SE website.

With a USB Bluetooth Dongle or a PC with in-built Bluetooth you can transfer the content direct to your PC and you don't need the USB Cable drivers for your SE phone.

With a Memory Card Reader you can simply plug the reader into your PC, copy the content to the appropriate folder on your Memory Card, then put the Memory Card back in your phone.

CONECTION
Sad to say but every data cable needs a disc installer, I also thought that it is possible to use a datacable without an installer it but it is impossible. Yes u can use it...only to charge your phone unit but not to transfer data and files from your computer.

The only thing to use your datacable is having an installer or buying a new datacable, an installer is along with it.
But for better transfer without an installer (disc) needed.
Use a Bluetooth USB Dongle.

Alternative: u can also buy an USB bluetooth dongle, to tranfer music via blutooth to ur mobile

Connecting phone to pc
connecting you phone to your pc is quite easy to do.

all you have to have is:

pc with bluetooth capability( dongle)

celphone with bluetooth enabled

whenever your bluetooth dongle is attached to your pc, specially under windows XP, it is automatically configured to locate/find other bluetooth enabled devices under its radius.

when your phone is detected, you are asked to enter a pin to either receive data or send data to your pc.

having a bluetooth software will also lessen your frustration as bluetooth software have instructions or walkthroughs on how to do this.

you can readily transfer your pics to your computer using a bluetooth dongle thats attached to your pc. since your phone has bluetooth capability, you can do this by sending your pics thru bluetooth towards your computer. with bluetooth technology, you dont need an exact software to doenload the pics.
