sounds like ur timing gears have jumped a cog or two. That's the gears at the crankshaft to the camshaft. Pretty big job if you don't know what you are doing.
probably the valves have unseated the hotter it run the worser it get warranty defect take to dealer tell what it doing tell him you think its un seated valves and cover under warranty
Not familiar with tecumseh lawn boy. Lawn boys I worked on were 2 stroke, if this is the case the crank seal is sucking air after engine warms up. New seal would fix. If you can't do it you're self may not be economically worth it.
Usually if you push the lever forward that is the start position (or choke position) once started in this position from cold start, slide back this should be fast, slide a little further back and this should be slow then all the back should stop. Have not worked on a lawn boy silver for about two years now but all are about the same, anyhow give that a go, good luck!
I had the same problem , found out it was the coil was getting hot. I replaced the coil which was not hard , remove 2 screws an unhook 2 wires. You have to get the coil from a dealer , in my area anyway. Hope this helped.
