Canon PowerShot G2 buttons don't work

The camera turns on normally and you can take a picture, but none of the buttons work. The LCD displays your picture, but you cannot scroll to an other picture. You cannot bring up the menu or change any of the settings controlled by the buttons on the back of the camera. Also, if you zoom in, you cannot zoom back out.
The camera worked fine the last time I used it. Today I went to use the camera, charged the battery, and had the failures.

You have a bad button board . This is a single board with a series of small button switches that control all these functions. Most repair shop will charge around 75.00 to fix.

I experienced the same problem. This is caused by a misaligned zoom lever contact. You need to disassemble the camera and realign the copper contact from the board below the zoom lever. My camera now works perfectly.

Hi,i can't get my pictures on my laptop because i have lost my cd that sets every thing up.please could you help solve my problem for my camera canon G2 powershot pc1015 thanks regards jabs.

If you used a memory card, take it down to CVS pharmacy or the equivalent, and have your pictures put on disk. They normally charge around 1. to 3. dollars, depending on how many pictures you have on your camera.

Camera's screen is black, but still takes pictures.

Think that you might have accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the LCD display on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn the screen back on, try pressing the DISP button once with the camera turned on.

Blank screen

Sounds like you accidentally pressed the DISP (Display) button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the screen on and off in picture taking mode to save battery power. You could then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn it back on, just the DISP button one more time.

Blank LCD screen on shooting mode, but does show settings. Will not take pictures. Replaying mode works, shows pictures taken before screen went blank. New batteries. What is going on??? Is it...

The Display button manually turns the LCD display on or off to save batteries. If you accidentally had turned the LCD off, It should only take one press of the button to turn it back on and leave it that way. As such, it's not you but the camera. The A570 IS is relatively new. Your camera is likely still under warranty. If so, contact Canon for warranty repair (see the following link):

White LCD on my canon

Hi: I think you have broken (accidentaly with the fall) the cable with several wires that connect the LC display. My real advice is that you take your camera to a store were they can give you direct support desmanteling the camera and replacing the cable or fixing it. However, Zair already had a problem like yours and the best solutions was given by BowerR64. You can consult on the following page: http://www.fixya.com/problems-solutions/t103443,p294056/Canon-PowerShot-G2-Digital-Camera.aspx (just copy and paste on the address bar) ;) Regards
