Why won't my motorola photon q xt897 turn on after i hit the power button but when i plug in the charger the green light comes on how do you fix this problem with the motorola photon q xt897
I got mine brand new few weeks ago and all of sudden won't turn on????

Not sure If you will see this because of the age of the op. when this originally occurred I had an upgrade available, so I just moved on. However, I have broken my current phone, and I need to get thins one working again. I am having the same problem. Also, If I plug and unplug it, your logo comes up, then the phone shows level of charge for a few seconds, then goes blank. It does appear to be charging. I have done what you instructed in the post. These are my results:

SOURCE: phone screen is black
With the phone off, hold * and # keys and then press power button:
- If your phone screen still dont show anything then the backlight or whole screen is broken and you would need to replace or make a technician to replace the screen.
- If your phone shows a boot screen with serial numbers on it, then you would need to re-flash or reload the phone firmware to recover your phone. For that you may need some special software, a PC and your phone's USB cable. You can find tutorials and guides over the web.
To get out the bootloader screen you need to take out the battery and the re-flash procedure delete all your data so I recomend you to download it with your phones PC software.

Have you tried to hold the POWER & SELECT button together for 10 sec. The phone should reboot

I have the exact same problem as yours for the last couple days, and FINALLY IT IS CHARGED last night using the USB data connection cable. I don't know the exact problem with other chargers, including car and regular outlet chargers, but it works with the USB connection from a computer. GOOD LUCK!!!
