Hi

If the battery is new then either the battery is faulty or the charging circuit in the laptop has failed, this would need a new main board for the laptop, have you got another laptop you can test the battery in to confirm if its the battery or the laptop.

Check the charger for output voltage at the plug.

You have a ground fault issue in the DC JACK.

There are escentially 4 circuits in the jack and one is not making contact.

1: Negative Charge circuit (outter ring)
2: Negative Run circuit (outter ring)
3 Positive (Inner Ring)
4: Signal (center pin)

I believe the negative charge circuit (outter ring) is not making contact internally. Typically what happens on that model DC Jack is the tension contact metal becomes fatigued, and does not touch the outter ring.

This could come from Heat causing early fatigue of the metal.
Or normal wear, the metal has simply worn out from regular insert/removal.

That usually indicates battery is beginning to go bad. Eventually it will not hold a charge and will need to be replaced.

it means your battery is damaged. avoid using battery while using charger in your house. remove battery to be safe. battery is for outside or for travel only.

The match is critical. Look for the values such as AMPERAGE in Milliamps and Proper Voltage as specified by the manufacturer. Failuer to make a pure match could burn up the Motherboard.

Charging led blinking

If your battery will not charge, you need to run a test on some components on the laptop. The battery, the charger and the laptop itself. Once you detect the faulty conponent then you replace it
with a new one.

To test the battery:
1.Power off the laptop,
2.Take out the battery,
3.Insert it in another laptop,
4.Check of it will charge,

If the battery holds a charge there, then it means the problem is not from the battery, but if it does not hold a charge, then it means the battery is defective and need to be replaced with a new one.

To test the laptop:
1.Turn off the laptop,
2.Disconnect your present charger,
3.Remove your present battery pack,
4.Insert a well tested battery into the laptop,
5.Connect a well tested charger to the laptop.

Battey not charging, red light flshing

Check the power adapter with a multi-meter, the voltage of the power plug that plugs into the power socket on the laptop should be slight higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the adapter.
If it is faulty, there are replacement power supplies available on the Internet or at your friendly computer shop.
If the adapter is OK then the power socket on the laptop is faulty or this socket has a dry solder joint connection on the motherboard.
You can test this by wriggling the power plug when it is connected to the laptop, if the charge LED flickers and if you hold this plug in a certain position the charge LED stays on without flickering, then the power socket is faulty.
This can be repaired, but requires the laptop to be completely
disassembled. I suggest you get a quote first.

Acer aspire 3050 new battey will not charge

Sometimes batteries need a full 24 hr initial charge before they will work. You would be advised not to use the M/C during this period. Also it will take several charges before the battery reaches it's optimal performance.

This could be the problem so it's worth a try.

Inspiron laptop Battery won't charge

Try taking out battery and plug in power. If it works, battery is faulty. If not,
Try taking out your hard disk plug in power, if it works, hard disk is faulty. If not,
Try taking out memory card, if there's a sound, memory card faulty. If no sound, it's your motherboard that is causing the error.

Note: If machine is under warranty no need to pay for the repairs.
