Free tv repair advice

The question in your mind is, what do you do when your TV has sound but no picture?
Remove the TV's power cord from the outlet. Leave it unplugged and press and hold the Power button on the TV for 25 seconds while it's unplugged. Release the power button and reconnect the cord. Check if there is a picture on the screen by turning on the TV using the remote control or manually.

You have a shorted printed circuit board. Seek advice form a local TV repair business.

Assuming TV reception is no problem. If your video/dvd is connected to TV with Euro plug it may be Euro partly slicked out from socket. If it's with separate audio l/r chinch check chinches. If ok then check solderings of sockets to board - sometime cracking. Try also replace connecting cables . Other reasons are more complicated and less probably.

try looking through all the settings to find something about the screen brightness then change something, see if there is a difference then reset your tv/ turn it off then on again.

From what you have said it sounds like you have the No display error

The main causes are Hardware failure, overheating or wear & tear.

You may need to perform simple maintenance, clean or in some cases adjust settings.

To get the best advice on where to start I recommend a Wii Repair Guide , From this you can fix the problem at home and avoid any large repair bills. Its easier than it sounds when you have help from the guide.

The other solution would be to send the console off to Nintendo, This is free if your still in warranty. If your console is out of warranty then the usual price of repair is $90

Probably the main board, audio processer blown. about 300.00 to repair. A service tech told me this and the repair worked.

I sent my question to the "solve your problem for free" on this website, so I was expecting some "free" advice. My finances are such that I can only ask for free advice. I did see someone who had a similar-sounding problem, and there was a mention of two possible main boards that would fix the problem. I was hoping to know which board would most likely fix my problem, since the TV is less than two years old. If I take it to a TV repair person, I want to have a fairly good idea how to fix it, and what would be the approximate cost, so I do not get ripped off.

Fisrt off think of the age of the set. and then ask yourself do you really want to start sinking money into such an old unit? My advice, free as it may be, save your money for a new set. These older sets can be regretably costly to repair. Be warned.

There are many possibilities and most of them have to do with the "D" board, Sony p/n# A1346948A but testing is something generally beyond the scope of those less than technically equipped. You could order the whole board and put it in but that might be more than the simple fix you wanted or you wouldn't be here. So my best advice is to take it in to a qualified shop and have them estimate and repair it.. I see 3 or 4 of these sets in my shop a month, Sony XBR, and they're still very much worth the repair..

have a tech check your tv it needs to be repaired the tv could have some cold solder in the diffrent circuits.if noytthen it will need a complete repair.
