I have installed 2 front speakers and trying to listen to music but it only plays from the right front speaker. i have tried stereo and all the other options but it wont play stereo. how can i make it play both speakers? is there a switch so that the receiver doesnt make own choices?
It sounds like an error in the wiring of the speakers. Check that very closely.

try turning the unit off in standby mode then hold down the enter button and then the power button for about 10m seconds that should reset the unit depending on how new the unit is it sometimes has a digital saftey setting but i doubt that would cause it to do what you are saying

Connecting or disconnecting output leads while power is applied is a common way to destroy the output modules.
If you feel adventurous, remove the housing and check at the rear of the chassis for larger black epoxy encapsulated modules.
There may be two or four of the same type; one of these has probably failed unless there are fuses visible related to the output terminals.
To establish which module has failed, it may be necessary to own a multimeter of some kind so comparative measurements can be made.
You can buy a meter adequate for this task at auto parts stores for under $20 US (you needn't spend more) and possibly (in the US) at Radio Shack although my last recent check of their website showed only a couple of models and those were over the stated price.
If you are near a Harbor Freight Tool outlet, they typically have them for under $10 and eBay has them even cheaper:

If you decide to 'DIY' and have the manual skills to do decent soldering with a decent iron, post back here as a comment and I will give you some instructions to follow.
The part is likely to cost under $25 US but labor will be a good bit higher.

get in your sound settings and instead of stereo output..set it for 5=1...and save the settings ...This will make it play all speakers again ..
the settings can be made in system preferences..sound...
