That is a setting in most cases. It is in TOOLS. If the setting is OFF it will not recharge via the computer. In most cases... Press Menu (then got on left to TOOLS) as it looks like a wrench. Then go to 'Charge by Computer' set it to "AUTO" or ON/YES.

I have just recently purchased a toshiba satellite c655d-s5126 which has 2 usb. one usb is working fine. but the another one functions fine when cooling pad cable is plugged into or to charge my mp3. But...

Follow the steps given below to refresh USB ports.

1. Right-click My Computer icon on the desktop, and then select Properties.
2. Click the Hardware tab.
3. Click the Device Manager button.
4. Click the plus (+) sign to the left of Universal Serial Bus controllers.
5. Right-click the device listed under Universal Serial Bus controller and select Uninstall.
6. Click OK to confirm the removal of the device.

Please note, repeat Steps 5 and 6 until all the devices under Universal Serial Bus Controller are removed.

7. Shut down the computer.

CAUTION: Ensure that the Shut Down option is selected, instead of the Restart option.

8. Wait for 5 seconds and then restart the computer. When the computer restarts, a "Windows has detected new or added hardware" message window will open.

The above steps will refresh the USB ports.

Now connect the USB devices like mouse, video camera, your external usb hard disk...usb hubs...whatever you like and the drivers should install automatically.

Hello , I have acer aspire one 751, with win

OK, it sounds like the acer aspire one 751 has a bad battery that will need to be replaced. It is not taking a charge, so it is not detected even though it is connected to the laptop. The 'plugged in' message shows that the charger is connected and detected by the computer, but the battery is 'not charging' due to the bad cells.

Good luck on finding a replacement battery.

Setting up two printers on the same pc

You need to manually setup the serial printer, as it probably isn't getting detected via plug n play:
  • Go to Start Menu\Printers & Faxes
  • Click on the 'File' menu and choose 'Add Printer'
  • Click next at the wizard, then select 'Local printer attached to this computer' and leave the 'Detect Plug n Play...' box unchecked, click 'Next'
  • Choose the correct serial port (either COM1, COM2, etc), click 'Next'.
  • Choose the correct printer manufacturer & model to install the correct driver, click 'Next'.
  • Print a test page, just to make sure it's working

I need driver detective serial for version 6.4.1.3

Hello buksakban,

I regret to inform you that we would be unable to give you a serial key for driver detective as it is Illegal and against Fixya's policy.

Not to mention driver detective validates your license each time you start it up to use it. So only a valid serial key that you have purchased would work.

If you need a free alternative you can download RADARSYNC free of charge.

Hope this helps, thank you for choosing Fixya!

When I plug in my Zen Micro to the PC to chage all i get is the flashing charge signal but the devices does not recgharge. This is the same USB that i have used successfully on another PC. it also wont...

I use to have that little player and i remember how it could be tricky on different computers.

from http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27711

If these don't work please report back:
4. If the Zen is not detected by or charging from the computer when connected, make sure you are using a USB port on the back of the computer (built into the motherboard) instead of one wired to the case (front or side). That way you are using a USB port with the proper power output.

5. If the Zen is not detected by or charging from the computer when connected, make sure the USB port you are using are USB 2.0 and not v1.1. If you computer is a newer computer, this shouldn't be a problem, but if it is an older computer, it may only have USB 1.1 ports which doesn't output enough power as USB 2.0 ports.

6. If the Zen is not detected by or charging from the computer when connected, make sure you have no other USB devices plugged into the computer (front and back ports), but the Zen. That may be worth a try to see if you can get enough current from the USB ports to begin charging it again. Usually the more devices you have plugged into the USB ports, the less current that will be available for charging due to the power being shared with all other devices plugged in.

7. If the Zen is not detected by or charging from the computer when connected, make sure that the drivers are loading for it properly under Device Manager (no conflicts showing). I believe the Zen will not be detected or begin charging unless its drivers are loaded and working properly.
