My Maytag Neptune washer (2002 model) has a problem with the door lock. The door lock is stuck and I have wet clothes in there! I tried unplugging it but it is still locked! It displays a "door open" error message
Try these steps:
1.) Take the washer outside. 2.) Loosen the two screws on the back panel and remove the back panel. The pump sits on the left-side of the opening. There's a black water hose with a metal clamp; 3.) squeeze the metal clamp with your fingers until it's loose enough to slide away from the pump. 4.) Separate the hose from pump and the trapped water will pour out and the door will then open; and 5.) clear any blockage from the drain hose and the pump.

Thanks! I had the same problem, only the error message is "no drain." A little rock had somehow gotten wedged inside the pump. You saved me a service call!
