When the camera is turned on the zoom goes in and out a few
timesandthen a message saying"turn the camera on and off
again"appears. This does not fix the problem.

I have ran into the same exact problem with my dsc-w90 8.1 MP camera. I observed another solution which said to take the camera and "pack" it like a pack of cigarettes against your hand a few times. To my amazement it worked but it was only a temporary fix and would only zoom in. When i tried to zoom out it gave me the error and upon power cycle was back at 1.0X zoom.

Sorry man, I think you're out of luck. Most likely nothing you can service, maybe a professional can fix it though. Still under warranty? Good luck.

IAM TRYING TO TURN ON MY SONY DSC-W90 CAMERA BUT DOST NOT TURN ON AND LENCE FREQUNLY TRY TO OPEN CLOSE AND I RECEIVED MESSAGE ON LCD DISPLY TRUN THE POWER OFF AND ON AGAIN , EVEN I REMOVED AND FIX BATTRY...

The error message is due to the lens issue. the lens might have stuck due to moisture condensation or dust. It may require service to resolve the issue.
If you wish to resolve it yourself, you may use a soft cloth to clear the dust by manually pulling out the lens part..
If it doen't help, it may require opening the Camera

I am having E:91:01 that pop up on my lcd everytime im taking pictures.

Hi,
E:91:01 is an error code that indicates problem with flash circuit that is defective.
Replace flash circuit in camera to fix this problem.
Let me know if you need part number info of flash circuit for DSC-W90 or take camera to local camera repair shop to replace flash circuit board.
Thanks.

Dsc-w90

you will need to pack this camera as if you were packing a pack of ciggs or a deck of cards. this will cause it to resync with the lens.
