Take out the battery and put it back and than recharge again. Some times in case of G5 it happens that the camera battery is not properly charged and the indicator shows that its fully charged (i.e. Green light) In such cases battery need to be taken out and than put back again and recharged

Either the fuse has blown or there is another problem with the main PCB or possibly the battery door indicator switch.

Open the battery door, by the memory card slot is a tiny switch; is the black tab for the switch still there or is it broken off and missing? Is it jammed down? Try holding the switch down with a pencil and press the power button... does it work?

If it doesnt seem to be the switch, it's probably the fuse. If you can solder well you can probably replace it yourself, and I will get the fuses tracked down and listed in the store so they are available to anyone who needs them.. they are cheap!

Your problem may be due to worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, chances are that your batteries need to be replaced because they're just too worn to properly power the camera. And then, of course, there's the possibility that your camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.
