When connecting with external audio equippment, such as amplifiers or speakers, turn off the TV speakers. In order to do so, press the MENU button and use up and down arrows to select AUDIO menu. Press the right arrow button and then use up /down button to select TV Speaker. Then press the right arrow button and then use up/down to select Off. Then press EXIT. Assuming your external surround system has optical cable input, connect one end of an optical cable to the TV Digital Audio Optical Output port (it says digital audio out - Optical). Connect the other end of the optical cable to the digital audio equipment. It should work. If it soesn't, check your external system manual to make sure it is set properly.
Depends on your external sound system... If it supports HDMI, then just connect an HDMI lead between the TV and the external amp. If you don't have HDMI, look for two RCA/Phono connectors (small circular connectors) on the back of the TV (should be coloured red & white) and connect these to the external sound system. Finally, if you don't have either of these look for a 32 pin scart socket (rectangular with a bit sticking out) and get a scart to phone cable. Plug the scart plug into the TV and connect the Red & White output leads to your external system - hope that helps :-)

The 5.1 Dolby Digital is only on the TOS link!
Same as the SKY box. God knows why!

Maybe!! It depends on where the audio sys failed. If it failed at the output drive, then you can take the audio off at the audio output jack and input it to your stereo system where there is an audio input. You'll need a cable with RCA jacks on it for this.
If your system is muted for some reason, this may not work.
