You can clear cmos the same on any machine please unplug the machine take the back off you will see a silver battery about the size of a quarter there should be a little place next to it that if you press very lightly it will pop the battery out leave the battery out for 10 minutes this will clear the cmos, now put the battery back in with light pressure, once in replace the back of the machine and then you can boot the machine.
hi, first of all check the main battery back of ur machine by unplugging from the mains power supply. if machine shuts off, then u have to replace the battery.and then set the date time etc by pressing F1. and then save it and exit set up. next it will not ask for F1 or F2.
if the main back up battery is ok, then another possibility is the CMOS backup battery of ur machine have some problem. that's why it loosed all the seted parameters. then u have to replace the CMOS battery of ur machine. normally 3V battery. then set the date time etc by pressing F1. and then save it and exit set up. next it will not ask for F1 or F2. ok
Unplug AC power. Remove the battery. If there is a CMOS battery (a rarity for laptops now), remove that as well. Press and hold the power button for at least 10 seconds. Replace batteries. Reconnect AC power. Turn on machine. CMOS should be reset to defaults.
You need to pop off the side of your computer and see what type of cmos battery it uses, then go to a battery supply store and get a new one. Its either dead or not holding a charge. Should only cost a few bucks to replace.
The cmos on the Pavilion is going to be in one of three places, and will be one of two styles of battery. The cmos style will be either a large watch type battery about the size of a nickle located in a slot on the mother board, or in a yellow or greenish pouch with two wires leading to a connector, located under a cover on the bottom of the machine, or under the keyboard.
