Dvr 50 Hi I have jamo Dvr50 system and it has been frozen since yesterday. I have power down few times but nothing is happening. It comes on and panel lights up but that is all. None of the commands work even from remote control. Today i tried to hold the 'standby' button and than turned the power on and dvd tray opened i popped in DVD but than nothing. The system has been only used few times but it was left on standby for long period of times and some time it use to come on by it self and than it would go back to standby, The lights in the panel use to flicker i did not think much of that, I thought it was just the remote sensor. Can you help

"My Jamo DVR 50 has frozen and will not respond to any command.
Reading the other treads on this site, I tried everything from power down, to taking the unit apart and removing the dvd inside. Only when I remove the dvd drive, I can get the unit to work."

My unit did the same. I followed the instructions above and it now works . I attached a seperate DVD unit to my system. Use the video mode to hear the sound.

I tried to run a copy of a DVD on my Jamo DVR50.The player started for 02 secs, then stopped. After extracting the DVD disc the DVR unit remained frozen with AV1 output signal to the TV ON (black screen with AV1 label). Could not reset it, even after unplugging the power comes up and by pressing source (presumably DVD) it freezes.

    Can anyone help?

Jamo dvr 50 buzzing/crackle from speakers after repair

Guess it would be cheaper to buy the DVR-60 , og DVR-70. I recall having seen good publicity on the dvr-60, but guess it would be hard to get your hands on that one. I have found the dvr-70 at the price of aprox. 200£. If you change the "motherboard", it will probebly brake down again, en just as expencive. I believe the cabinet is overheating do to lack of aircirculation, when you open it, there is no dust to be found at all...

Receiver doesn't start

to rectify this problem you will have to replace few capacitors in the power supply circuit. Caps to replace are C16, C17, C21, C26, C27, C32, C47. Be very careful with two screws located under the heat sink. DO NOT MIX THEM WITH THE REST OF THE SCREWS.

My jamo DVD, cd, tuner unit will not reboot even when I unplug and restart. The blue lights come on and it says 'power up' but then it won't work.

there will be bad caps on the power supply pcb assy, change those capactors that have been bubbled, tops pushed outward, and it should work.

Where do i purchase remote control for jamo home surround ?

Hey I have a DVR50 which appears to have given up the ghost. Its probably beyond economical repair but I'm gonna try the service centre later today. If you have any trouble getting a new remote I'll gladly send you mine if I have to scrap the DVR50. I'd rather someone get something out of it. Just pay the postage and thats fine. [email protected]

Jamo DVR 50 Frozen?... Solutions?

I have the same frozen problem vith Jamo DRV-50.
But I found this:

www.leifline.com/reptips/DVD_DVD-VIDEO/DVD.htm

Its a swedish site for electronic repearments, Jamo DVR-50 have problems with heat also and capacitors in the power suply unit goes burned. So the instructions are:

1.Simptoms:Various strange error

2.Solution: Replace the capacitors in the power supply, especially C30 470μF/ 10V, C31 2200μF/ 10V and C16 1000μF/ 10V.

My service guy already told me that some electrical parts in the power supply unit are burned, he replace them and succeded to powerOn the unit but still jamo have problems staying powered on and now im going to tell him to replace those capacitors C30, C31 and C16, and i hope this will work.
