My Dyson didn't pick up grass on my tile floor and after vacuuming my living room carpet, with 2 dogs, the canister was empty.

Have you checked the rotary brush at the front. Although IO dont have the same model of dyson I need to clean out the dog hairs that get wrapped around the main rotary brush which is easily got to by turning the catches with a coin under the cleaning head. They should have a little arrow or padlock symbol showing which way to turn them

Official advice and support for Dyson technology

SOURCE: My Dyson will not vacuum

    Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties using your DC24 on this particular rug. You may find the cleaner's powerful suction causes certain lightweight rugs to seal closely with the soleplate, requiring a little more effort to push.

Reassuringly, it sounds as if your cleaner is performing correctly, but if you have any further concerns about this issue, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). One of our experts will be happy to provide the assistance you need.

    Kind regards,

    Jack

Official advice and support for Dyson technology

SOURCE: how do i alter the dyson dc04 to use on hard floors

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

If your DC04 has a brush control on the cleaner head, you'll need to set this to 'On' for carpets, and 'Off' for hard floors. You can find out how to do this on our Support site:

      http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc04/dc04-brush-control/my-machine-is-not-working/i-can-see-something-wrong-visual/i-can-see-something-wrong-visual/my-brushbar-is-not-rotating2/does-the-brushbar-rotate-with-the-power-on

If your machine does not include the brush control, it will only be suitable for vacuuming carpeted surfaces and we'd advise against using it on hard floors in upright mode. However, you can use the hose and wand to vacuum hard floors and we have several suitable hard floor tools available which may help.

I hope this helps - if you'd like further advice you can reach our freephone Helpline on 0800 298 0298. Just to let you know, our Helpline is available from 7am-10pm, 7 days a week.

Dyson DC59 and DC62 - vacuum makes a pulsing sound (removing a blockage)

Dyson Digital Slim DC59 and DC62 cordless vacuum cleaners are engineered to make a pulsing sound to let you know if they're blocked. This could happen if an item too large for the machine is accidentally vacuumed up. Our video support guide will help you identify and remove any obstructions from the motorised floor tool, wand or bin inlet.

We love our Dyson DC25 Animal but we just got new carpet and it's like pushing furniture around the room. I know it doesn't have a height adjustment but is there any other option?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty using your DC25 Animal on this particular type of carpeting. This sounds unusual especially as it worked effectively on your older carpeting. As DC25 is engineered to adjust automatically to different floor types and pile heights, there is unlikely to be an issue with the vacuum itself.

It may be worth checking directly with the carpet manufacturer for their guidance on caring for this specific type of flooring. Manufacturers will sometimes recommend vacuuming certain types of long-pile or delicate carpeting with the motorised brush bar turned off.

If you'd like any further guidance from our experts, you can reach us by calling the Dyson Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

My vacuum engineer friend loves Dysons ~ he says that they keep him in business!!
The only machine that I have found any use on animal hairs is the Miele Cat'n'Dog model.
      The turbo brush is excellent.
Dogs shed most of the time so that means to keep onto of the hairs you need to vacuum most of the time (once a day!).

      Pricey but mine is brilliant.
