The drive belt on a F/L washer is normally quite tight and when installed will need to stretch slightly to maintain it's tension.
If you have the correct belt you should be able to make it fit by fitting it onto the motor pulley and then holding it onto the large pulley while at the same time rotating it to get it in place.
Make sure you have the correct belt by checking the belt length. The belts will have a series of numbers which should compare, even if the brands differ.
A belt which is too tight can cause the motor bearing to fail prematurely.
Good luck.

Its pretty straight forward to fit the cable, if it is not pulling the jockey hard enough into the belt it is more likly the belt is incorrectly fitted or has stretched.
not absolutely sure of your exact model, but most washer belts on put on by putting them on the motor the stretching to the tub pulley and holding it there while you move the pulley which then stretches the belt to fit for you.
Attach two 8-foot PVC pipes to one of the 12-foot PVC pipes using two elbow fittings and PVC cement. The result will be a short U shape.
Step 2
Attach the remaining three 12-foot PVC pipes together using two elbow fittings and PVC cement. The result will be a tall U shape.
Step 3
Attach the two U-shaped assemblies together using two elbow fittings and PVC cement. The short U shape is the horizontal base; the tall U shape is the upright frame. The finished result will resemble a bookend
Step 4
Cut strips of poultry netting and stretch them across the frame, fastening them with nylon cable ties. You'll find poultry netting packaged in rolls that are 3 feet in width. Cut lengths of the netting to stretch horizontally across the frame, leaving them in the standard width. Start at the top and work down along the back of the tall frame, creating a netted pocket. Overlap the strips by about 8 inches.
Step 5
Position the net so that no houses, automobiles or high-traffic areas are behind it. Errant balls can be unpredictable and dangerous.
Step 6
Secure the net by placing one 50-lb bag of sand on top of each leg of the practice net's base.
this is a common problem as nowadays stretchy belts are used in order to avoid motor adjustment.
fitting requires some brute force. the way i do it is to put the belt on the motor pulley then start it as much as i can on the drum pulley. turn the drum pulley keeping force sideways to push the belt on and as you turn, the belt will go on
First take off the cover on the left side oif the top cover, then turn it over, remove the screw holding the red lock and pull the cap and brush roll out, remove the cap, remove the cogged belt, then you can put the new pump belt thru that slot, put over the pulley on the pump and then stretch it to go over the motor shaft. Then put back together.
I just fixed mine. It took me all of 10 minutes. Pull the brush out. Stand the brush on end on the edge of your study work bench/table top. while holding the brush vertical( on end) take a small phillips screwdriver and tap using a hammer on the metal pin you see in the middle of the brush. Keep tamping and the whole assembly will come apart. What you will have then is a long metal shaft, 2 bearings(they are acutally skateboard wheel bearings same number same make). Clean the gobbed up hair with a razor blade and then reassemble by tapping back together. The bearing wont be worn out because they are way too tough for a vaccum. We used ride down hills on them! a ten minute fix wow and you wont have to drive to vacuum shop and spend $$ and time
I think its a 'front Loader'? Take the back panel off, to expose the main drive belt & pulley. When fitting the new belt it needs stretching by first putting it around the motor drive shaft & easing on to the main pulley whilst gradually rotatng the pulley. You need to finish up with the belt in the centre of both of the pulleys if possible
