Question about General Electric WCVH6800J Front Load Washer

Open Question

How do you fix wcvh6800 basket that is loose and needs to be rebalanced?

I got this ge wcvh6800j front loaded washing machine from a friend who was getting rid of it because the basket banged and would shake the whole machine violently. As I looked at it the basket is loose and it seems like it is just out of balance. The springs look okay. I don't have the manual and was trying to see how to take the outside off so I could see if I could rebalance. What suggestions or ideas do you have. Also how do you rebalance the basket?

Lock Function

You can lock the controls to prevent any selections from being made. Or you can lock the controls after you have started a cycle. children cannot accidentally start the washer by touching pads with this option selected.

To lock the washer, press and hold the DELAY START button for 3 seconds (on some models use SIGNAL button). To unlock the washer controls, press and hold the DELAY START button for 3 seconds. The control lock icon on the display will light up when it is on.

NOTE: The POWER button can still be used when the machine is locked.

It stumped me first time. You have to unplug it, plug it in, then press signal-delay-signal-delay with in 30 seconds. You don't push any othere buttons first. Then it will lock the door, spin the drum, and go into troubleshooting mode.

Here how you "test" the system: http://www.fixya.com/support/t9576766-found_small_part While in test mode "t02", you can reset all the error codes by holding down Start until it displays E00. If you find errors in the t02 test, make sure you write them down before clearing.
