Can your computer connect to the internet? If it can, it just means that you have a wired internet connection and not a wifi connection on the computer, which means your iPad is just connected to your home network via wifi. If your computer can't access the internet or you know you don't have internet service at home, then you either have cellular service (3G/4G) or your iPad is connected to some other available WiFi from someone else's service.

SOURCE: my wi fi is not connected. How do I do that/

I picked 1 up for the first time and connected in 2 minutes.
In settings page where you add a wireless connection, you will need to know..
Security type, mine was wpa2 ( may be wpa/wpa2/wep)
SSID, your network name that is transmitted, mine was default
password, whatever the wireless password you chose with wpa, if you have wep, it gives you a pass key, you will need to log onto your router to get this

SOURCE: my iPad cann't connect to gmail

If you have the iPod software 2.2 or 2.2.1 you shouldn't need to set it up as "other." It should already be there along with the Microsoft Exchange, MobileMe, Yahoo, AOL options. All you need to enter to finishing the setup is your full name, email address, password, and a description of the account if you wish.

SOURCE: cannot connect to my Wi-Fi

Need more info. Is your router broadcasting? What is the security setting. Cruz Reader has a menu icon at top (looks like a circle with horizontal lines). Click on it and go to the bottom of the screen on right side and hit settings. Network is the first line. Press on it an d see if wireless on cruz in set to on. If not turn on, if on see if it sees any wireless in your area. If it does not then first thing to do is to make sure your router is broadcasting. If you see other routers and do not see your routers name then you must check to make sure you router is set correctly. Even if you have security it will still show up in the cruz reader if it is set up and broadcasting. If security is set then you either have it set as WEP with a paraphrase in you router that points to key phrase No:1. You can find this out by typing the setting of the router wihich is usually 192.168.1.1. You must go into the router with this address and copy down the Key Phrase in number one, if set up this way. This phrase will be necessary if you have security. If you have not security, and you are broadcasting you should be seen. There is more but this should get you started.

How to connect your Apple iPad to the Internet

Connecting your Apple iPad to the internet is very simple. When you use a application that requires internet capabilities your iPad will do several things.

-The iPad will attempt to connect using the last Wi-Fi network you used that is available.

-If no network you previously used is available, the iPad will show a list of networks in range. You can then tap a network and if needed, enter a password to join the network. Any network with a locked Icon will require a password. These are secure networks.

-If no networks are available or if you don't choose one, the iPad will then connect over a cellular data network.

What is the difference between a cellular and Wi-Fi network? A Wi-Fi network is generally faster, but covers less of an area. Think of your home wireless network, or a wireless network at a library. It has limited range. A cellular network is generally slower but covers a larger area. Normally, if you are connected to a cellular network you will see a 3G icon or E icon at the top of your device. Also, you normally pay to use a cellular network.

To see all the Wi-Fi networks in range: From the Home screen, choose Settings > Wi-Fi. Tap a network to join it.

How do I connect an iPad to the internet?

Do you have wi-fi? If so, in the settings, go to 'wi-fi' at the top of the page. Click on 'choose a network'. Type in the name of your network and the password (this information should have come with your router). That should get you set up with the Internet.

With iPad must I join an internet even tho it is connected to my desktop usb?

Simply go to Settings-second down on the left menu, choose Wi-Fi and on the right menu, your home (or wherever you are) wi-fi connection should appear by name. Then simply touch the one you want to connect to. You should see the choice you made on the left menu next to the word Wi-Fi. I only connect my iPad to my computer to charge it occasionally via USB.
