I have a Haier AP148DS portable ac unit. I had to replace the Condenser motor blower wheel and evaporator motor due to the old blower wheel broke. Now the evaporator motor won't turn on and I can't remember the connection points. Sure could use some help.

There is a start/run capacitor , did you check it to see if you have 115 vac ? also a contactor of 115 vac to check if contacts are dirty etc..

SOURCE: AC not cooling enough

Probably low on refrigerant, if valve moves when heated it is working, assuming the system is matched.

SOURCE: GE Central A/C Unit about 30 yrs old; condenser fan stops after a short time.

I gather that it is the outdoor fan motor that runs a bit then stops.

Fan motors that stop by themselves are overheating and going into self-protect. The fact that you replaced the motor and capacitor opens up a whole world of "which wire is in the wrong place". I could do this if I could see it, but I can't see it. You're probably going to wind up calling a service man to sort out the wiring.

SOURCE: AC condenser won't turn on

Replace the T-stat the screw is not letting the wire make full contact and causing the unit to not turn on. If you are not careful you can over heat your unit and be in for alot of money to get it repaired

SOURCE: AC condenser will not turn off after unit is turned off.

your contactor that supplies power to the compressor has its contacts welded together and even if you turn up the thermostat and the coil that holds the contacts closed will de-energize,but with the contacts welded together this is no longer possible, you need to replace the contactor

How do I separate the blower wheel housing to replace the blower wheel on a Commercial Cool Portable AC?

Squirrel cage blower, centrifugal, the housing should have removable parts.
The complete side of the housing held on by screws. A round removable flange on the side of the housing held on by screws. A removable flat flange on the output of the housing, held on by screws. The fan motor comes off with the blower wheel. These are different scenarios.
Sometimes the wheel must be removed from the motor shaft before the wheel can be removed from the housing inlet or outlet after removing any flange on the way of the wheel. Handle the blower wheel with care, it is balanced.

I cant find the booklet that goes with my Amana Portable Inroom AC. Model # ap148D

The Amana portable a/c units have their documentation at Haier America. The direct link to the manual you want is here: http://crm.haieramerica.com/PUBLIC/User%20manual%20AP148D.pdf . If you want to buy the manual, go to http://www.partstore.com/Model/HAIER+AMERICA+TRADING/Haier/AP148D/Other+Cables,+Cords+%26+Wires.aspx . Scroll down to the All Parts section and then find the Use and Care Manual for $4.56. (It is a special order.)

I also found a link to the manual for the AP148DS here: http://homeappliance.manualsonline.com/ex/thread/view/idThread/295978 . However, you need to be a registered user (free registration) to access the link. Click on the Get This Manual button and the registration/login will pop up. This may be a similar enough manual to help you use the A/C.

I hope this helps.

There is no exhaust. The dryer will not dry even though there is heat

your blower wheel is most likely stripped out on the motor or the blower motor isnt running due to a bad belt

Soleus 14000 btu air 12000 btu heat

Hi
Your text "will not blow out" indicates lack of air flow.
There are two posiblilities:
The upper blower wheel has failed (evaporator coil) OR the lower blower wheel has disintegrated (condenser coil in cooling mode) - which is very common on this Soleus Air model. The blower motors are very good and rarely fail.
Unplug from outlet, remove the six phillips head screws which secure the back to front of the appliance. Look for many broken pieces of your blower wheel. The proceed to www.soleusparts.com and order a blower wheel replacement kit(s).
Problem solved!

Amana AP148D-RB, Air Conditioner Parts

Not sure if you have fixed yet, but I had the same problem on my AP148D. There are 2 fans, 1 for the condenser (base of unit) and 1 for the evaporator (top of unit). My condenser fan disintigrated. Go to his web site and you will find a parts list for this model, and a distributer list http://service.haieramerica.com/Models.aspx?CID=231

Call this number and they have the parts in stock : 800-313-8495, mine shipped overnight. The parts are :

AC-8000-27 Wheel-blower condenser $21.81

AC-8000-26 Wheel-blower evaporator $21.81

I suspect you will need the first part. Hope this helps. Be careful to note where all the screws come from when dismantling !!!!
