Picture is too large to show on screen

Check its "Pin-cushion" section circuit for the fault. An IC is used there to control the pin cushion distortion. If this IC has got faulty, this type of fault can occur. This is actually a skilled work. If you are not ahndy, seek any technicians' support.

SONY KV SW 212 M80 Screen sowing pin cushion distortion. Screen is squeezed on the side and the side is curved inward.

Hello
Its pin cushion distortion circut had some trouble with it. There is an Ic and one transistor wich controls the pincushion effect. In most cased the trasistor that fitted on a heat sink, will have loose soldering at its terminals. this transistor will heat up during working, and repeated heating an cooling will make solder terminal loose contacted and it is normal fault. locate this transistor, very near to the LOT, resolder its solder terminals by applying a little more solder. It is best to resolder most of the surrounding solder terminals of high watt resistors, without making any solder bridge in between the solder points. If these does not helps you, replace both the IC [an eight solder terminal one, small IC] and the pin out transsistor described earlier at the same time. this will solve your TVs problem. OK.

Vertical pinch on left hand side of crt

You mean the picture on the left side is curved out? Or is it restricted to the very top and very bottom?
If you have the curve problem, look in the menu and see if there is a pincushion control and a pin cushion balance. Adjust the balance until both sides curve the same, then adjust the pin cushion control to remove the curve.
If you are only having the problem in the corners, look in the menu for a corner correction control and play around with it to see if it corrects your problem. If the monitor has no OSD (on-screen-display), then it may be too old to have these controls. You may have to open the unit and see if there are any physical adjustments (little potientiometers). You might want to leave this to someone who knows what they are doing since the high voltage circuit can have 25-35 kV. Considering the price of CRT monitors, you might be able to find a new one for under $50.
