Acer Aspire X1700 Desktop Wont Start up Shut down with blue Protection screen

That's Blue Screen of Death. Start up ur pc in safemode by pressing F8 key while booting and uninstall any recent hardware or software installations. Or try System Restore to an earlier date. If u failed to boot up ur pc even in Safemode, make a clean and fresh OS installation.

In the safemode windows go to Control panel and check your power options, you will see what time frame your system has for the LCD when turning off.

If this does not fix the issue, try booting into safemode with networking for you to be able to go online in safemode try updating your BIOS from your Manufacturers Website, Updating your bios may fix the issue.

Try going into Safemode. If the system stays on while in safemode, when try disabling start up items.
To go to safemode, press F8 when starting the PC or while you see the Dell logo.
To disable start up items, Click on Start>Run>then type MSCONFIG, then press "Go". IN System Configuration Window, click on Startup tab, then uncheck all the items. You can also use this link as guide.

If the system works find on safemode, or after removing startup items, then you have a software issue. OS reinstallation is easiest approach.

On start up goes to the Window main screen, then shuts down

This issue can be hard or software or even both. I suggest troubleshoot on the software side first. Try going into safemode. To do it, tap F8 while you see the ACER logo during start up. Then select SAFEMODE. If the computer is not shutting down on its own in SAFEMODE, then its a software issue. You can back up your files while in SAFEMODE. After backing up your files, you can reinstall Windows using the reinstallation disc that came with the computer. Goodluck.
