SOURCE: heat strip installation

It was quite simple, just installing the heat strip and my model only required removing the grill cover and mounting the element. The other optional installations didn't apply to my model.

thanks,
Don

SOURCE: will not shut off

Sounds like a stuck relay on the unit itself. Maybe there is a short in the control wire that comes from the thermostat that activates the fan.

The thermostat probably has one hot wire at all times. The thermostat then chooses which wire to send the voltage down based on your selection. One of those wires is probably for the fan only. Make sure that it is in good condition (no bare, pinched or wires)

Rv heat pump problems

Open circuit or out of range Freeze Sensor. Air conditioner mode of operation will be locked out. Furnace, heat strip, heat pump and fan mode of operation can continue to operate but displays the last temperature set-point. There is a sensor that detects evaporator freezing, it may be bad or your freezing because of low freon levels

E5 Open circuit or out of range Freeze Sensor. Air conditioner and dehumidification

operation will be locked out. Heat pump, furnace, heat strip and fan operation
can continue to operate but displays the last temperature set-point.

Sounds like your freeze sensor is defective and since it is still under warranty, you would void it if you replace it yourself.

I have Dometic Roof Top Heatpump Model B3200 It will not turn on when it is a cold morning. The only way to get it started is to heat up the air in the caravan using a fan heater. This somewhat stupid...

To getproper heat, keep your temp setting at 30+ degree and also mode in "heat"position. If still no heat, check your heating sensor for closed circuit by anOHMs metre. It it's with RV, check power to RV

Installing rv roof airconditioner heat strip

I see what you see also in the manual. The difference is the Heat Strip package that part is optional and the 600212-001 with the optional heat strips becomes the new 600315-001 I talked to Dometic Duo-Therm and the models are the same but they both are not heat pumps but the new heat strip package comes on when told to go into heat mode when you change the thermostat to heat. The part you purchased will fit both model numbers you listed for your roof top air conditioner. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Can I put heat strip in my duo therm air condition unit I think it is ducked

Check your control box at ceiling assy., and see if you notice an extra plug in side or end, where the heat strip would connect first. If not, Write the model and serial number off the control box, as well as model number off the bottom of the upper unit (roof) which should be visible when ceiling assy, filter section is removed and call dometic customer service at 1-800-544-4881, and they will advise you as to proper control box required, and if anything else is required as well.

How can we tell if our dometic rooftop air conditioner/furnace has a heat strip or not.

Hi; If You have a heat pump then yes on heat strips. Does Your RV have a gas heater. If You gently remove the cover some times You can see the heat coils in the metal air flow tube...Also does the compressor run in heat mode ,if not then best guess You have heat strip capability...alpharome416

Is it hard to install a heat strip in a model#57915541 serial#54936348 air conditioner

Hi, like most of the RV roof tops, they will have a manual showing the type and wattage of heat strips you're system calls for. It comes as a unit, pre-wired to fit and set in place. You should have no problems installing a heat strip kit, but make sure you get the right one that the unit calls for as they do make several models. Very self explanatory. Also, be sure that you're system calls for a heat strip package?? Good Luck, and if you need more help please contact me. Very easy to set in place and plug in. Sincerely,

How difficult / expensive is it to install a heat strip in a Dometic roof top AC? The unit I have has a mark on the knob for heat, but I suspect it was never installed.

Fairly easy. The only thing that you must figure out is how many amps the heat strips will draw. Make sure the fuses and the breaker switch can handle them. And be aware your electric bills will shoot up.
