Try holding down the # key and a menu should pop up with the various typing styles. I changed mine to T9 abc and it works fine now

i was having a similar problem, if you go into a message and then press down the bottom where you would change the keyboard/input type (Samsung Keyboard, Samsung Phonepad ect.) > select Options....... >Input method tab > options > select English from the drop box > check that the XT9 Settings is also set to English. I hope this fixes the problem for other people with the same issue

your solutionis is to format your mobile (dont worry your files will be saved): tunr off your mobile, hold on ( 0 ) and press the start bouton(red bouton) it will takes 3 to 5 min . now ur mobile is like new with english language!!!!!!! enjoy
