94 is black & 95 is tri-color or they make a 97 that is larger (450 pages) for the color as well

I've never encountered a problem like yours on the HP78 cartridge or even the HP15. Have you tried cleaning the cartridge as well as the printer pin? The only time we had this problem with one of our customers, we cleaned the cartridge and the printer pins and the problem was gone. Let me know if this helps.

Open up top/sides back, carefully check inside, you should find you have a piece of paper fouling out the in sides, if lucky should be able to remove by gentle but firm pulling motions.
Close all open parts then restart printer. If you still get error message, recheck for further paper jamming inside.?
