Check the lid switch. It is common for them to go bad. Check to see if it clicks when pushed down. the switch can cause the washer not to spin or drain.
If the unit will agitate but not spin or drain I recommend checking the lid switch first. You should be able to hear the lid switch click as you slowly open & close the lid. If you don't hear a distinct click, replace the switch. Here is the part you need.
Our kenmmore front loader is having a problem with the pump. When it empties there is dirt with the water. Is there any way I can get at the pump and clean it? It is working 70% and as long as I have the drain hose on the ground the water will drain. When I shake the hose dirt comes out and sometimes it says F21. Can anyone help.
You'll need to unplug the washer and then remove the hook end of the drain hose from the drain itself. Lower the hose to a bucket until it starts pouring water and empty the drum in this way. Next turn off and disconnect the water supply lines. Put a piece of carpet or a doormat on the floor and lay the washer on it's side. You'll still have a small reserve of water to contend with using a mop but it won't be overwellming.Check the drivebelt for signs of wear and or breakage. Turn the large pulley in the center of the machine clockwise and counterclockwise several turns in each direction. The motor reverses itself to pump and spin and again to agitate. If these turns prove to be difficult in either direction, you'll probably need a new transmission or a new machine, depending on your mechanical expertise.P.S. remove all clothes to perform the previously described test.Good luck, Dana
Sounds like a lid switch. there should be a hole under the lid on the right side about the size of a dime. Make sure the plastic "flipper" is inside and "clicks" when you push down on it with a pen.
not sur if you found your problem bu I found what was happening with my washer. I pulled the trans and motor assembly out and found a plastic gear / cam broken. I think the part number is 64194. it's found between the clutch and drive to the drum.
