Adjust the L screw in fully till right in,then out 1.5 turns, same with H screw. Then start saw, adjust L screw in or out slowly till you get max revs. You may need to lower idle via idle screw if revs too high. When screw cant acheive better revs, reset idle. Then, rev saw to max revs, adjusting H screw to get max revs, then when max revs acheived, turn screw anti clockwise 1/4 turn out. That gives it enough petrol to cool the tip of the plug

SOURCE: i have poulan micro xxv chain not being oil when

wow thats an oldie, That saw uses a diaphragm pump located just above and in front of the clutch drum. Its going tobe hard to find one if its bad, Try cleaning out the oiler hole in the bar first, Then try running the saw without the bar and chain on and see if it pumps. Also check the oil pickup tube in the tank, It has a small screen on the end of it thats prone to sawdust clogging it. If it still does not oil then I suggest you locate the gasket and diaphragm for the pump before you take it apart. Remember to clean everything before reassembling,, Good luck

How does the oiler work on a poulan micro xxv

The oiler operates off the crankshaft under a cover behind the sprocket. Find the oil port near the back end of the guide bar where the oil pump injects the oil onto the chain. That port could be plugged. Your little Micro probably does not have an adjustable oiler but just in case invert the saw body and see if there is a + and - in the casting just under the sprocket. If so, moving the slotted adjustment towards the + increases oil flow.

Sometimes sawdust enters the tank when being filled and plugs up the inlet to the oil pump. Keep an old 1" paintbrush with your oil can so you can brush away the debris before opening the oil tank to fill while in the woods.

Wont stay running. it idles kinda high. stays running with the choke on. pull the trigger 2 giv it gas it dies.

Check the fuel filter, air cleaner, and muffler for plugging. Check the fuel lines for decay or other problems. The idle speed screw (turned CCW) will slow the engine down. Hope this helps!

I have a Poulan 3314 saw that is only two weeks old. It works good until it's warmed up for about 20 minutes. Then, when you finish a cut and get off the throttle it dies. It always starts right up again....

The low side of carb setting needs to be shut down. Will speed the idle up and stop from overloading on fuel. Only one catch. It takes a special tool to adjust. Go to poulanpro.com for your nearest dealer.

Poulan Wild Thing starts great but as soon as I try to cut it die

The carb low idle needs to be adjusted this is fairly common among the Poulan chain saws. Once you adjust the low idle from factory setting it will work
