Hello Friend, this is Z. Thank you for allowing me to assist you!

You would need to remove the bucket to locate the filter of your Frigidaire dehumidifier (FDL70S1). Then pull the filter downwards for cleaning. The filter can be clean by using clean water or vacuum cleaner extension hose. If you use clean water, please allow the filter to dry. Once you reinstalled the filter then replace the bucket. To extinguish the light simply press the FILTER button and your dehumidifier should resume normal operations. Remember it is best to clean your filter every two weeks based on normal operating conditions and typically the FILTER REST light will illuminate after 250 hours of operation. Hope this helps!

Frigidaire 70 pint dehumidifier model # LAd704TDK filter looks to have frozen or clogged, how to remove filter to check for problems?

Turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Remove the water collection bucket and set aside. At the top of the bucket holder, just behind the louvers you should see a plastic pull tab, which is part of the filter frame. If you have never removed the filter before, there may be a piece of plastic tape on the filter frame. It was put there for shipping. Remove and discard it. Pull straight down on the plastic tab and remove the filter. It can be cleaned by vacuuming it or if it's really dirty, wash it in with warm water and mild dish washing liquid. Rinse thoroughly, shake off access water and allow to completely dry, before reinstalling it. Never operate the unit without the filter in place, as doing so could cause damage to the unit. The filter should be removed and cleaned once every two weeks.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

The dehumidifier I have is a model AD40LBK Whirlpool. How do I clean the filter on this model.

The filter will e in one of two locations;

1. Remove the water bucket and look up just inside the bucket holder for a pull tab type handle. If you see one or two, that is the filter frame. Pull staring down on it. If you have never removed the filter before thee may be a piece of tape holding it up in place. This was just for shipping purposes. Remove the tape and discard it.

2. On the right hand side of the unit (as you face it) there may be a rectangular flip open plastic door. Behind that door lies the filter. Open the door and pull the filter straight out. Like the above, it may have a piece of tape on it. Remove the tape and discard it.

To clean the filter. you can vacuum ti using a vacuum that has a hose & brush attachment. If it is really dirty, wash it in warm water and mild dish washing liquid. Rinse thoroughly and allow to completely dry, before reinstalling it. NEVER operate the unit without the filter installed. Doing so, can damage the unit.

I hope this was of help to you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Need to clean filter

Hazel, I assume you want to know how to find and remove the filter for cleaning.

The filter is located behind the front air intake louvers and depending on which model you have, the filter can be accessed one of two ways. Before you attempt to remove the filter turn the unit OFF and unplug it.

1. Remove the bucket from it's holder. Look up inside the bucket cavity, just inside the unit behind the louvers and you will see a tab type pull handle. This is the handle to the frame of the filter. Pull it down and out.

2. As you're facing the unit on the fight side just behind the louvers, there will appear to be a trap type door. Open this door and you will have access to pull the filter out.

You can clean the filter in one of two ways: Vacuum it or it it's really dirty, wash it in warm soapy (dish washing liquid), rinse and dry thoroughly. NEVER operate the dehumidifier without the filter in place. Doing so, can cause damage to the unit.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know.

Is there a filter in the 65 pint dehumitifier and if so how do i clean it!!!

Yes, there is a filter in it or it should be. Since you didn't say which model you have, it is in one of two places. Before attempting the filter removal turn the unit OFF and unplug it.

1. It can be accessed by removing the bucket and just inside the bucket holder at the top, behind the louvers on the front, you will see a tab type handle. This is the frame for the filter. Pull it down to remove the filter.

2. There will be what looks like a pull door on the right hand side of the unit, behind the louvers. Pulling straight out on that will remove the filter.

The filter can either be vacuumed to clean it or if it's really dirty, wash it in warm water & dish washing liquid. Rinse thoroughly and allow to completely dry, before reinstalling it. NEVER operate the unit without the filter installed, as it could cause damage to the unit.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Does this model have a washable filter and where would it be so I can remove it and clean it. Pat

Yes, it has a washable filter. To access it, remove the water collection bucket and look up just inside the bucket holder. There you should see a tab type handle. That's the frame for the filter. Pull it down and out. Wsh it with warm water and liquid dish washing detergent. Rinse and dry thoroughly, before reinstalling it. DO NOT operate the unit without the filter.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Just wondering if this unit has a filter or filters that need to be changed?? (Frigidaire 70)

Yes, your unit has an air filter, that should be removed and cleaned at least once every two weeks, while in operation, The filter is located behind the louvers on the front of the unit. To access and remove it, remove the water bucket and just inside the bucket holder at the top of the opening, you will see a tab type of handle. This handle is part of the filter frame. Pull that down and out and the filter will come with it. Back flush the filter with clear warm water. Dry it thoroughly, before reinstalling it in the unit. Never operate the dehumidifier without the filter installed.

To assist you further, in case you have misplaced your Owner's Manual, I have included a link to the Manual for your model. You can download and print the manual for future reference.

Where is the filter and wath does it looks like ? can someone send me a picture to locate the filter and how do we take it off ? sorry if my english is not all right Deshumidificateur Silhouette...

On your model the filter & the filter frame will either be on the right and side of the unit (as you're facing it) right behind the louvered front. It will look like a pull out door, which is really what it is. If yours is not there, remove the bucket and look up just inside the bucket holder and you should see the filter frame. If you have never removed it, there will probably be a piece of tape on it, left from shipping. Remove the tape if necessary and pull the filter frame down. If you clean it, use either a vacuum or wash it with warm water and dish washing liquid. Rinse well and allow it to completely dry, before reinstalling. Never operate the unit without the filter installed.

Turn the unit OFF and unplug it before attempting any of the above.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Help for old kenmore dehumidifier

Hello Sandy,
On mine, the filter is in the front. Behind the grill. To remove it, you have to remove the bucket first. Then you can see two tabs sticking down that say "Filter Front". You can reach your fingers up & behind it, grab the lip, and pull straight down. For me it requires more force than expected. With the filter out, put the bucket back in and turn it on. Make sure that there is air blowing out the back to verify that the fan still works. I hope this helps.
