How can I find the Windows Server 2008 driver files for the Adaptec CERC SATA1.5/6ch?

I am trying to install Windows Server 2008 R2 on a Dell PowerEdge SC1420. The server uses the Adaptec CERC SATA1.5/6ch array controller. Dell has drivers that can be downloaded, but the file requires two floppies. I do not have any floppies or a floppy drive. I have tried several virtual floppy drives but none of them will work with the Dell file. I am looking for the actual files that Windows Server 2008 requires to see the array controller.

OK, EZPZ.
These drivers will install when you first start installing windows 2008 server. You'll see a option that says: Hit F4 for any further drivers needed for windows to install. I think it's F4. You can place these drivers on a thumb drive OR a CD - you must extract the files on to a thumb drive. At the very start of the windows install you'll see the option for additional drivers.

But make sure you choose the correct driver - you might have to try a few that are in the list.

Greatest of luck - EZPZ

SOURCE: Hello. I got a Dell PowerEdge

The series of Intel Xeons associated with thethe E5430 is starting to become outdated, and thus it is difficult to obtain them. Memory4Less is selling the exact same processor as the one you have for $860 (can be found here: http://bit.ly/i46z9h ). Unfortunately, it does not come with a heatsink or fan. It is very difficult to find the original fan for a processor sold on its own. While you may not be able to find an original cooler, many companies have made heatsinks that are compatible with Socket LGA771, which is the same socket your processor uses. A comprehensive list can be found here: http://bit.ly/dOzByw A concern when having to use a fan that did not come standard with the CPU is whether or not it will fit in the case. Take careful measurements, and use the fan for the processor you already have as a point of reference. If you absolutely must have the original Dell fan, then I wish you best of luck with your search.

Getting Blue Screen on Dell laptop with Win Server 2008 R2

I talked to a Dell rep yesterday and was telling him that my new Dell laptop (in my case an E6510) allowed me to load Windows Server 2008 R2 but I kept getting the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) every so often. He said it was the drivers for the chipset and that I should just upgrade them to the latest. He also said the Win 7 drivers for other components work fine because the two operating systems share a common code base. If you are installing Win Server just have the drivers, particularly the ones for the network adapters, handy on a flash drive, extra partition or CD when you do the server install.

There is no twain-compliant device installed m1136 mfp scanner drivers not installed on server 2008 r2

It may just not be supported on that OS. Try another OS's drivers and see if it works.

This particular device will require drivers for the Operating System to use. Also the hard disk drives will have to be installed an initialized outside the Operating System first before use. This is usually during startup after the system BIOS.

The exact steps can be found on the RAID card manufacturer's web site.

Adaptec 2110S Driver for WIndows Server 2008

Windows Server 2008 is still a little new to get accurate drivers for it. Check on Adaptec.com and ask if they have a generic SCSI controller that will work for Windows Server 2008.
