How can I toggle between Kilometers and Miles for distance display on Ironman Achiever Elliptical? There is one switch on back of panel near the receiver for the wireless heart rate monitor, but not mentioned in my user manual and I don't know what it is supposed to do. Toggling that switch doesn't seem to change the distance display. Advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

i believe this is error occurs when the console doesn't get a reading from the gear box. while debugging a problem with the reed switch (the thing that detects motion, that you have started pedaling) I had the gearbox unplugged and it indicated error 1. once plugged back in, it was fine. possibly you have pinched/cut wires? I had this problem where the stem meets the body.
The gear box wires are red/yellow/orange for the servo positioning, and brown/black for power to move the motor.

I have the same problem and took mine apart. There is a steel cable running from the resistance controller servo to the magnetic brake assembly and inside the assembly two more that attach to the brake shoes. In my case both of the small inside cables broke but if the main outside cable or any part along that chain broke it would have the same effect. I've emailed about replacements. Take care if you open this beast. It's a bugger. Take lots of snaps along the way sow you can see how it goes back together.
It is simple to change your treadmill so it reads MPH.
Treadmills are an easy and relatively inexpensive way of maintaining physical fitness. Most modern treadmills have a readout on their console that will track your speed over time in kilometers per hour or miles per hour. If your treadmill came with the wrong setting, it is possible to toggle between these two settings.
