Why does my dewalt polisher intermittently stop after it warms up

I can run the polisher for about an hour and then it will begin to stop and start. It acts as though there is a bad spot on the armature or possibly the field has an open circuit once it gets hot. I have looked at the brushes and they are not gone so i believe it is something else. Thanks.

How to replace the power cord on my dewalt, DW849 buffer

yes there is, make a note of the wiring before removing anything. you can go to dewaltservicenet.com and download a breakdown but it does not include the wiring.

18v xpr dewalt drill smells like buring then eventually stopped working or Intermittently works.

could be 1 of 2 problems, the motor or the switch, I would think more the motor. you can get some idea of what the cost would be by going to dewaltservicenet.com and typing in your model number for the parts listing. But also keep in mind that Dewalt has a MAX service rate that they will rebuild the tool up to the MAX rate for it, that includes batterys (or it used to include them)

Hi can I use my Dewalt polisher and change to sandpapper if so what parts will i need for instance glue new flexable pad sticky 220 papper can you please elaberate a little what in going to need thanx ...

I'm not sure I understand your question, but I'll give it a go.

The DW421 is a sander already. If you want to change it to a polisher, you can buy polishing pads to go on it.
If you have a Dewalt polisher and want to convert to a sander, you can buy sanding disks to fit your polisher. They are installed on the spindle and I believe you can get a backing pad for it also.

Hope that helps

My dewalt polisher will doesnt turn on when connected to outlet?

I would check the brushes. These are small carbon blocks that transfer the electricity to the armature and are usually easily accessible from outside the tool. Look for two round disk like caps with a screw slot. Undo the caps and take out the brush and you may find it is worn to the limit.

Dewalt pollisher getting hot and blowing black dw849r

I have worked on polishers from several places, and really the best solution is to get a second polisher.
Polishers get really hot after prolonged use and people that use them that hard use one until it gets hot and then they switch off to the other and let the first one cool. It's expensive from the stand point you have to buy a second tool, but running a polisher to the point that it's too hot to hold onto is how they get burned up and you'll be buying another one anyway.

Dewalt cordless drill

You have burned out the drill motor, it is shorted, the battery smoked due to a direct short, one thing I don't understand why the thermal limiter didn't trip in battery pack, I would contact manufacturer and try to get hem to buy you a new drill.

Dewalt Glue Gun Warming Problem

Are you in the UK? The fuse in the plug might need replacing. I had the same problem with glue guns. It's not worth buying an expansive one. The cheap ones might take a bit longer to heat up but the last just as long if not longer. I can never tell when the element will go.
