I have some distored blue color across the screen

Projection sets have two very common problems.

The first common problem is convergence

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on - TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some photos of convergence problems.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a solution

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses.
This is a a fairly easy DIY job if you know what you are doing. If you have never done this before we would advise calling a shop or if you want to do it yourself get a complete kit with instructions and support from www.TvRepairKits.com

Balck color turns into green

are the dots appearing in diagonal lines or randoml across the screen? This would suggest to me either a loose connection in your cable or the screen is faulty and will need replacing. Sorry for the bad news

Lines across screen

If the lines are slightly diagonal and in red, blue and green you have a problem in the ABL circuit. if the lines are only one color you may take the front grill cover offf and remove the panel. look fro the black box 2 inches square with 6 little controls on it. 3 are for focue 3 are for screen the middle on of the screen is the green adjustment the other 2 should be labled r and b respectivly. what ever the color of the line turn the control labeled screen and r b or g for that color ever so ligtly counter clock wise.

My apex pf2725 tv screen is green

Hi,

Your posted/describe symptom seems to be that the green color drive is defective. The "lines going across" are flyback retrace lines brought about by the safe problem.

The corrective procedure would be to replace. In most TV units, color drive are three (3) identical transistors: for the blue, green and red. They are normally located at a small squarish PCB attached to pins of the CRT right at the rear end of the neck. More often, they are heatsinked. Repair should be a straightforward desoldering the defective component and replacing with a new one.

In some versions, color drive is a single IC power pack.

Still, it is also possible that the problem may be due to cold solder on any or all of the pins of the above describe transistor (or IC).

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Red, green, and blue rectangular "chads" or squares across top of screen

Hi there, this is easy thing to fix. Its LDV cable. This is the Cable which goes from the main board on to the screen. Un plug the cable from the screen side., then push the cable back. Make sure cable sits in .

This will sort all the problems with the picture,i.e colour problem , picutre squring up and many more things.
