Why is Overspeed/no rpm sensor light on?

Clean throttle body,check tps sensor or iac

Check the mag pickup speend sensor that is screwed in where the flywheel bolts tot he alternator. Sometimes they can pick up chips etc. Unscrew wipe off, screw all the way back in by hand slowly until it makes contact with the flywheel teeth. Then back out 1 turn. Check voltage on sensor wires during cranking, it shoupld be approx 2V AC. If not replace sensor.

Replace over speed switch or throttle control.

its possible the overspeed is set to sensitive. or your rpm are to high. these are preset in the factory as a safety, check your manual to ensure your rpm speed is in the pre set area. generators will do this under load when you have a big load on them or take a load off. the governor will some times over compensate causing it to trip on overspeed.

This is normal operation. Your vehicle is equipped with a "Rev Limiter" that shuts off the fuel injectors at roughly 3200 - 3400 RPM to prevent damage from engine overspeed.

P1506 - Idle Air Control (IAC) Overspeed Error This DTC is set when the PCM detects engine idle speed that is greater than the desired rpm.

• IAC circuit short to GND
• Damaged IAC valve

Disconnect IAC valve and look for little or no change in engine rpm as an indication of a stuck or damaged valve.

Your speed sensor is not working properly this part is located under the motor shroud and on top of drive motor it is attached to a bracket with 2 bolts. Unplug the unit and remove motor shroud see if you can adjust it first by loosen the 2 nuts and moving the sensor forward without making contact to the flywheel, then tightened the nuts up. Plug the unit into the outlet, start the unit, if you still have the overspeed then replacement of the sensor is needed. Call Landice Directly they will ask for model and serial number and they will the new sensor.
