Train will not go now just says we are off the track after putting in new batteries. it worked just fine before we changed batteries. i put several different brands of batteries and just get same thing we are off the track

I purchased a Leapfrog Leapster in end of June sales last year for my daughter's birthday in October 2008. When she first turned it on it froze but after restarting played fine for 2 hrs then died and refused to work again. Fortunately I had kept my receipt (Target) but was still worried about it having been 4 months prior. They ended up giving me a store credit as they no more in stock at that store and I picked one up from another Target without having to pay the difference between my original sale price. I know you don't have the receipt but you could contact the place of purchase and ask them even if they are able to send off for repairs or put you in contact with the right people. The wires will have pulled off the circuit board inside.
Remove screws (force a hex driver in there) and solder wire back on.
Train surgey (geddit) is very fiddly. Have a drink first! ;-)

I have same problem. I did removed battery on right leg and remote.switch from try me to off 5 sec. than set to play mode still won't work. Does any one complain to Disney?
