We have a Samsung French Door Refrigerator that maks a loud humming Sound. This is the second brand new one and both within hours make the loud humming noise.

Hi, had the same problem with my RS21DCNS engineer came and made a modification to drain hole (made the hole bigger!) this allows for a little more ice to form without causing the horrid noise. A new backplate was ordered as all new models have a larger hole in the backplate already. It only takes a few mins and it under guarantee if you bought less than 2 yrs ago, but you will have to empty fridge side to allow them to get to inside at the back. Good luck.

the fan behind the ice maker is iced up poss fault defrost heater gone try total defrost faor a list 36 hrs restart it noise come back then you need to repace the defrost heater hope this helps

this is a design fault on the appliance normally caused by the failure of the element and built up of ice around the circulating fan (the humming is the fan motor trying to turn ) youll find that if you defrost it it will work for a little while and then ice up again the need to replace a panel inside the fridge modified and a couple of sensors and poss the heater element

it's only 4 weeks old ./ don't mess with it it has a warranty you may void it if you work on it . it is probably in the main digital control in th fresh food .. but i would call the seller and they can set up a service for it .. mm

Hi

The sound comes when there is ice build up around the fan and the fan will hit it causing this sound. You can try to leave it unplugged for around 4-24hrs and also make sure that the area near the back is clear so that airflow can get through. If the issue returns then replace the thermostat.
