Hardware attack Some of our Ingenico 6550 keep coming up Hardware Attack. Re-injecting them does not do the trick but now we were recently told this means there is something possibly loose in the machines itself. Has anyone had any experience with this issue?

Having similiar issues with the i6780. We are experiencing high percentage of hardware attacks/loss of encryption. Talked with ingenico support, they made reference to a known board issue, but i have not been able to get any details.

I don't but Ingenico does have a daughterboard that they can install that is supposed to relieve this issue. I am working with a customer who is also having this issue and we learned last week that Ingenico does have a hardware solution. I am supposed to receive some in the lab this week.

maybe 2 reasons
  1. virus attack
  2. hardware failure
virus attack - best bet use rescue disk from nt virus company like kaspersky rescue disk, bitdefender rescue disk n etc hardware failure - maybe cause by heat...check your coller system like cpu fan

How to calibrate the pen on a ingenico debit and credit
I've done this several times, but it's been a while, so it won't be exact. Hit all the corner buttons except the bottom left, all at once to reboot the machine.Then hit the green button to get in to setup. Then arrow down to the More options and hit enter. Scroll down to pen calibration and follow the prompts. We actually threw out all our pens, and do a finger calibration. It save time at check out, them not having to mess with the pen. Hope I was close. You should be able to figure it out from what I've told you.

you would need to have the company who does your creditcards now reprogram the machine for you.i changed to pnc bank and had my old unit and a new one from them. they reprogramed my old one for free so i had a backup if i needed it

My ingenico i8550 not coming up.
Do you mean you can not switch terminal on?
If so you have to dismantle terminal and then to assembly it again.
You need IP6 screw driver to undo the main board.
To do this you need to know proper procedure for disassembly.
Aim is to disconect HSC module from main board clean the 120 pin contacts and put HSC back
in mating connector.
If you are not trained for this I suggest not to tamper with.
